Most Popular Valorant Agents: Choose the bet and win rate for characters in Episode 3 Act 3

With 17 agents to choose from in Valorant, it can be hard to choose which one is the top one when you're trying to climb the ladder. We looked at the pick rate and win rate of every agent in the top tiers of Valorant to determine the most popular one.

Episode 3 completely changed the landscape of Valorant. With every agent receiving some form of change, as well as massive changes to the game's economy system, players had a fair amount of change to adjust to.

We also saw the introduction of two new agents in the form of KAY/O and Chamber. The stats show that KAY/O may need a buff or two, but Chamber's place at the top of the meta seems to have solidified already.

With the help of data collected Valorbuff we sorted each agent in Valorant by pick frequency (how regularly they appear on the team) to determine who is the most popular character in the game.

We compared each agent's pick rate with their win rate (when not playing a mirror match), which revealed some interesting information about the state of the game.

Most Played Valorant Agents

17. Yoru

  • Peak: 8.7%
  • Win rate: 42.4%

Yoru is much less effective than other duelists like Reina and Jett. Yoru is not seen as a viable choice by almost anyone.

The developers have confirmed that it is ready for a 2022 makeover that Riot has been promising for months. Once that happens, he might see a spike in the game, but until then, this dude is not viable.

16. KEY/O

  • Peak: 9.9%
  • Win rate: 44.3%

KAY/O wasn't Valorant's most unconvincing release, but within a couple of months of its launch, it became clear that he wasn't on par with the rest of the roster.

Both his pick and win are low, and while he's received a couple of buffs, Initiator may need a few more before he's really useful in the ranked meta.

15. Phoenix

  • Peak: 16.7%
  • Win rate: 45.2%

The introduction of KAY/O initially lowered the level of Phoenix's game, but since then people have been flocking back to the duelist. It's a little easier to play than KAY/O, with a little more input power from Run It Back.

While he stands firmly behind Reyna and Jett as Valorant's top duelists, there's nothing wrong with Riot tweaking him a bit.

14. Astra

  • Peak: 9.6%
  • Win rate: 48.0%

Astra has the potential to become one of the strongest agents in Valorant. With her unmatched ability to zone enemies from anywhere on the map, she still managed to maintain a viable win rate despite her nerfs.

Her high skill cap, however, means that only the best of the best can use her in the rankings. Other controllers such as the Omen and Brimstone are more popular simply because they are easier to play.

13. Omen

  • Peak: 33.3%
  • Win rate: 46.2%

Omen is the perfect agent for those looking to create pure chaos on the map. Although he was once a mandatory pick, he has lost that dominance at all levels of the game.

However, if you like to prank your enemy with teleports and smoke, he is still a very good option.

12. Cypher

  • Peak: 15.6%
  • Win rate: 46.8%

Cypher's game speed has been slowly slowing down since nerfs removed his ability to influence rounds upon death, and as Killjoy got big buffs to fill the void.

With a slightly below par win rate, Moroccan Spy may need some TLC in future patches to get back to his best intel gathering.

11. Breach

  • Peak: 9.6%
  • Win rate: 46.8%

The Bionic Swede struggles to adapt after having his Flash charges reduced. While Riot thought his higher weapon speed could make up for the cut abilities, he's not popular or particularly effective right now.

Buffs are definitely needed to bring Breach back in line with players like Sky, who has taken his place on many teams.

10. Reina

  • Peak: 72.5%
  • Win rate: 47.0%

Reyna is a pure duelist. Her over-healing ability makes her extremely powerful in the early rounds of a match, and she is widely regarded as an ideal agent at lower levels.

Her win rate has taken a bit of a hit - probably because she's faced a bunch of nerfs - but she's still a solid option if you want to drag your team to victory by the neck.

9. Saga

  • Peak: 72.3%
  • Win rate: 47.3%

Despite getting nerf after nerf, Saga remains a strong agent as always. Who knew that a healer in a tactical FPS would dominate the meta?

Anyone with a more supportive band should definitely consider using a Chinese Sentinel to climb the stairs to the very top.

8. Skye

  • Peak: 23.7%
  • Win rate: 47.3%

The eco-warrior Sentinel is starting to make his mark on the meta. Her ability to sniff out enemy locations is truly only matched by Owl, and she provides a decent alternative healing option to Sage.

She also has the option of just getting in for herself with a faster flash outfit - and while that was nerve-wracking, she's still somewhat popular at higher levels.

7. Jett

  • Peak: 65.3%
  • Win rate: 47.5%

Probably the most colorful agent in Valorant, Jett is also one of the most popular. The "rank demons" love her for her carrying potential and everyone wants to hit the sick clip with all her mobility.

If you're an aggressive player looking to single-handedly lead your team to victory, Jett might be the duellist you need to play to rise to the top.

6. Chamber

  • Peak: 16.0%
  • Win rate: 48.0%

Despite being Chamber's first rodeo on the list, the French Sentinel started off hot.

Considered a great defensive skill, using his abilities to break out of the line as a duelist makes the newest agent one of the best.

5. Owl

  • Peak: 35.8%
  • Win rate: 48.2%

In firm hands, the Owl can be deadly. Mastering its lineups is the key difference between a good Owl and a great one, with its unparalleled utility making it one of the most effective Valorant agents.

If you are looking for an agent for the main purpose, only a Russian will help you.

4. Brimstone

  • Peak: 19.3%
  • Win rate: 48.5%

American controller Valorant is holding its own in the meta right now, providing a very solid smoke option for just about any PC. It is especially effective on Bind where it can use its usefulness to clean up bottlenecks easily.

Brimstone's simplicity is its charm, so if you're struggling with some of the other smoke options, you can make things work with it.

3. Raise

  • Peak: 34.9%
  • Win rate: 49.6%

Raze is probably the most annoying agent to play against. Each of her abilities can kill an opponent, and her packs open up innovative ways to hit opponents in the face.

Statistically speaking, she is probably the best agent in Valorant at the moment, which means we may see a few nerfs in the near future.

2. Viper

  • Peak: 28.3%
  • Win rate: 50.8%

After being classified as one of the weakest agents in Valorant at release, Viper is now arguably one of the best in the game.

She looks a bit retooled after the buff wave, but she's become a lot more popular as a result. Now her win rate is in second place in Valorant, making her a solid pick for any team.

1. Killjoy

  • Peak: 31.6%
  • Win rate: 54.1%

Killjoy has an almost unmatched ability to block sites and her win rate only skyrocketed once people realized the potential of the German Sentinel.

With her elusive abilities, Killjoy is the perfect one-trick agent (just look at that 54,1% win rate).

These stats are really important to Riot when it comes to balancing agents as they give a good indication of the health of the game, so expect the top players to get some nerfs (and some buffs for the laggards) in future updates.
