In our Shadowgun War tips and tricks guide, we'll cover the basics of the game and how to survive your first match. We will also talk about individual heroes, strengths and weaknesses, and general strategies. Let's let's start from our strategy tips and techniques of Shadowgun War Games to understand all the heroes!
Use a controller for the best results!
First things first, if you're planning on playing Shadowgun War Games seriously, we highly recommend using a Bluetooth controller and playing with it. We're not saying that you can't get really good results using only touch controls, but for most players it's much more convenient to use a controller!
You have several advantages when using a controller, the most obvious of which is the ability to move and aim at the same time with relative ease. The difference between touch controls and controllers is day and night!
Here are the default controls. We're using the Xbox mockups just as a starting point, and any Bluetooth controller matches very closely.

General Strategies!
- ➤Stay with your team! No matter which mode you play in, sticking to your team is never a bad idea. Just be careful with weapons and explosion damage abilities like Sarah's rocket launcher and Slade's grenade.
- ➤Know where the pickups are. After close range fire, running to the nearest health spawning spot can mean the difference between life and death! There are also pickups that instantly refresh your abilities and temporarily speed you up!
- ➤All heroes specialize in some form of tactics, whether it's leading an attack or picking off those who lag behind. Know what your hero is good at and use his strengths!
- ➤Rotate your head 180. Don't stare too long in one direction as you will be wide open to heroes like Jet.
Heroes leadership!
Shadowgun War Games has a total of five heroes to run the game. More heroes will be added in future updates, and we'll cover all five of them here.
Slade (Storm)
Health: ★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆

Slade is a retired Federation Marine and known from the Shadowgun. He is an Assault-type hero, his abilities make him suitable for almost any situation. He packs two assault rifles, one of which has a scope that allows him to hit other targets.
Both assault rifles have a very high spread, so Slade shouldn't be fighting any further than medium range.
His Grenade ability tosses a short explosive that damages enemies in an area. This is perfect for teams that are too grouped together and a great way to clear a path forward.
Medkit's ability allows him to instantly restore a small amount of health. Useful for Slade's fast playstyle, the medkit allows him to stay in combat longer than other heroes. Just remember to recharge it!
Slade is the perfect starting point and we recommend playing him for a few rounds to get an idea of how good he is.
Sarah (Support)

Short for Sentient Android Registered Assistant, Sarah is a combat-ready android built to support her teammates on the battlefield. While her abilities focus on support, she also packs a nasty rocket launcher so she's not helpless!
Sarah's rocket launcher holds two rockets at the same time, and they do a lot of damage if you can land a direct hit on the enemy.
Even if you miss, the missiles will explode on contact, damaging anyone caught in the explosion. If you're having trouble aiming, a good strategy is to simply aim at the floor to catch your opponent from ricocheting.
The rocket launcher is powerful, with only two rockets and a very long reload animation. When you run out of missiles in the middle of a firefight, quickly switch to a melee SMG. It has a high rate of fire, making it ideal for taking down weakened opponents.
Her Healing Blast ability throws up a healing grenade. Any teammates, including Sarah, caught in the explosion will regenerate health over time.
Healing Blast allows Sarah to heal her teammates, but beware of her 35 second cooldown! Try to group up your teammates before using it to get the most out of your ult.
The Protective Dome in the location near Sarah is a great ability!. Your teammates can fire from inside, but projectiles from outside cannot penetrate the dome. The dome will break after it takes enough damage, and opponents can also just walk right into it, so be careful.
Despite being a support-type hero, Sarah's playstyle is fast and frantic. Use her abilities to help cover your team and then start taking down enemies with your rocket launcher!
Revenant (Tank)

Revenant is a cyborg full of rage. His aggression is at its fullest during war games and his play style reflects this. Out of all the heroes, Revenant has the most health, making him ideal for attacking the enemy team.
With the slowest movement speed and short-range weapons, Revenant tends to attack the enemy and get as close as possible to destroy them with his assault rifle. He also has a medium-range semi-automatic assault rifle for when enemies try to run away from him.
To help him keep his prey in sight, Revenant's Roar ability slows and disorients all players in a 90 degree arc in front of him. Open a firefight with this ability and you will almost always kill them before they catch you.
Inner Rage temporarily increases his movement speed and increases his defense, but also reduces the damage he deals.
Inner Rage must be carefully timed to get the most out of it. For example, if you are leading an attack with your team behind you, it would be a good idea to use it right away to soak up hits for your team while they kill the enemies.
Revenant is perfect for players who want to be the center of attention during a firefight. His incredible health pool and melee weapons make him a terrible threat to all heroes, but beware of fast heroes that can easily outrun him like Jet and Willow.
Willow (Sniper)

Willow is a trained and professional sniper and in the right hands she can be a real nightmare to deal with. She is one of the most cunning heroes so we recommend giving her a try once you feel confident in Shadowgun war games.
As you can guess, Willow's main weapon is her sniper rifle. It can increase the distance to large ones, so there is no need to put yourself in danger by being close to the front line. Stay away from firefights and try to shoot opponents from afar. Remember to aim for heads for maximum damage!
Her secondary weapon is a short-range SMG and should only be used in emergencies against enemies that sneak up on her or get too close.
Combine it with your second ability, Flash Mine, which blinds the enemies that activate it to flee or finish them off. Willow has the lowest health among all the heroes, so melee combat is extremely disadvantageous for her.
Her primary ability, Supercharge, allows her to fire charged sniper projectiles, increasing the amount of damage they deal. Punch headshots are almost always a guaranteed one-hit kill for most heroes!
Jet (runner)

Jet is an impartial player with a good attitude if you like to overwhelm your opponents with cunning and sheer speed. As you can probably guess, he's a fast hero right now, and his abilities reinforce this playstyle.
Jet packs his trusty handgun and close-range assault rifle. His pistol doesn't do too much damage, but it has a high rate of fire and the reload time is very fast, so you can kill your enemies while avoiding danger. His assault rifle is pretty standard, allowing him to attack a little further.
His abilities are where he reveals himself in all its glory! Time Rift temporarily sends Jet into a parallel dimension, making him invincible for a few seconds (something similar to Wraith from Apex Legends). You can use this to confuse opponents and confuse them.
Just be aware that opponents still know where you are when you are in another dimension, as you leave a trail of light behind you wherever you go. Beware of opponents who are waiting for you to reappear!
His second ability, Blink, allows him to jump forward in the blink of an eye. Perfect for getting out of sticky situations instantly or getting rid of your opponents and ambushing them. Mastering Jet requires skillful use of these abilities!
Is it worth buying the Premium Battle Pass?
Shadowgun War Games has a battle pass that rewards you with emotes, profile icons, borders, skins, and other fun little goodies. As you win matches and complete missions, you will earn Season Points. With enough points, your level will increase and you will receive special rewards.
By default, you will only have the free version of the Battle Pass. You get a few skins, a few tags, and some in-game currency from the Free Pass, but you'll need to level up the Battle Pass in ANY way to get most of the rewards. The Premium Pass offers you something in every level!
But given that these are all cosmetics, you yourself have to determine its value. If you're just here to play and show the Shadowgun world that you're the best, then you don't need a premium pass. However, if you like customizing players, then the premium pass might be worth it.
