Shagaru Magala - general information
Shagaru Magala is back for the first time since Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate!

Class | Elder Dragon |
Physiology of Shagaru Magala
Overall, Shagaru Magala's body structure is similar to his youthful form, Gora Magala. However, after shedding his skin, his body is now covered in gleaming golden scales, as well as his horns, claws, and other sharp protrusions that have changed color from crimson red/purple to dark brown. The once hidden eyes under the horns are also now fully open. Its tattered wings have also turned into golden scaly sheets that resemble the shape of a star when fully opened (when both wings are unfolded, to be exact).)
Abilities of Shagaru Magala
Upon reaching adulthood, Shagaru Magala's physical abilities improved greatly; they have become much stronger, more agile and, most importantly, more ferocious. Their normal state is similar to that of an enraged Gor Magala, but with a greater variety of attacks and evasive maneuvers.
In addition to more aggressive melee attacks such as the claw-wing attack and the grapple attack, which involves crushing and then scattering hunters like ragdolls, their viral breath attacks have also been improved; the blast range is longer and deals more damage, while the scattered virus pools not only infect hunters, they also explode shortly after they've been deposited, restricting hunters' movements during a frenzied fight.
Enraged, the Shagaru Magala soars high into the sky and lets out a deafening roar, shielded by a purple energy aura, before launching air attacks or swooping down on unwary hunters.
Combat can become difficult due to the Shagaru Magala being constantly enraged, giving inexperienced players less time to counterattack and heal themselves. Other issues include near-constant explosions around the arena that often catch unwary players off guard, which can then lead to continuous Shagaru Magala attacks that players may not be able to escape from. The closed arena also works against the players, providing them with only one large (but fragile) rock in the middle of the arena to use as temporary cover, and there is no other way out (unless the players have a trucker to take them back to camp).
Behavior of Shagaru Magala
Although he appears divine, like a sort of mythical deity, he also appears calm and calculating, as shown during the first encounter with the player in Sanctuarywhere he calmly examined his opponent. However, as soon as the monster starts attacking, its wild and cruel nature is shown in full force; he will stalk and attack his enemies in a wild and destructive manner, releasing everything he has until his target is dead. While in a state of constant rage that is comparable to the raging Gor Magala, his appearance almost fools others with his terrifying monstrous nature.
Just like when they were still teenagers, they release Madness virusto infect other monsters nearby. The reason for this is to claim territory, prevent other Gor Magala from moulting properly, and release the next generation of Gor Magala into their territory. However, the infection radius seems to be wider than ever as the virus seeps out of its lair, infecting many of the monsters on Sky Mountain. The strain of the virus also seems to be more intense, it easily corrupts the mighty beast like Zinogre, and unleashes the monsters of the pack, such as Yodrom and Iopra, on top of each other. The dark virus aura that envelops Shagara Magala is so intense that it is said to only dissipate after the progenitor monster's death.
Except meeting in his lair on heavenly grief, little is known about this unique and dangerous monster.
Habitat Shagaru Magala
Although juvenile Magals of Gor are known to roam many places (even if they are not seen in areas such as frozen sea way, the monsters of this region can still contract the Madness Virus, suggesting that the Magals of Gor were definitely in the vicinity, perhaps during their long flights from one area to another to find it looks like they will return to shed their dark skin to enter into adulthood life is high on Heavenly Griefto avoid possible threats during the reset process.
In the Heavenly Mountain camp, there was an ancient stone door that was sealed and tightly closed. Behind the door is actually Shagaru Magala's nest, which is also known as the Closed Arena or Sanctuary . It is possible that the people of the past erected gates to keep out the beasts, or at least the wanderers. However, the Closed Arena has no walls, allowing Shagar Magala to enter and exit freely, making the sealed door obsolete.
Apart from its secluded lair on Heavenly Mountain, Shagaru Magal is sometimes seen wandering in evergreen forest.

Shagaru Magala Attack Schemes
Energy Pillar → Rush
A column of energy is generated from the ground, after which Shagaru Magala rushes forward. To dodge this charge, you can simply dodge left or right when you see the pillars, as Shagaru Magala only races between said energy pillars.
Crazy breath
This is an attack that Shagaru Magala lashes out with a thick laser breath of energy that deals massive damage on impact. It can be avoided by getting close to Shagar Magala and taking cover under his feet, or moving further out of his range. However, the pace at which they can knock you down is really fast, so you must figure out how to avoid this attack immediately.
clapping
This is probably the move from the trailer where Shagaru Magala grabbed Barioth and hit him with a mighty swing. It would be easy to perform this attack on hunters if Shagaru Magala could use it against large monsters. So be careful with his possible attacks.
Rain of energy meteorites?
It looks like another offensive move by Shagaru Magala where he seems to be able to unleash glowing balls of meteorite-like energies in the trailer. As these meteorites descend from the sky, it is important to dodge it while keeping an eye out for Shagaru Magala's attack.
