Fortnite Scout Expert Skin Got a New Style
Epic Games has added a new skin style for the Fortnite Recon Expert Rare Skin.
Epic Games announced yesterday Fortnite update v12.60, and the servers are not running as planned at this time, and the last major update of the season will affect all servers and platforms worldwide.
During the downtime, Fortnite Insiders are looking for files to see what Epic has added in the update. Each major update adds new Fortnite skins and other cosmetics to the files, as well as challenges, new weapons, and more.
Data miners have already released a couple of Fortnite skins coming to the game soon, but there aren't as many skins as we usually get from a major update. Most updates usually have at least five or six skins, however when a holiday event approaches or Epic is just feeling creative, we may see more than eight new skins added to the files.
Both minor and major updates also feature new skin styles that have already been released to the Fortnite Item Shop. Epic started releasing new styles for current skins a while ago and mentioned in a blog post that they will continue to do so. We've seen many popular skins get new styles, some of which include masked versions of non-masked skins, or just different color skins.
Today's Fortnite update brings a new skin style for gear that is extremely rare as it has been out of stock in the item shop for some time.
SCOUT EXPERT FORTNITE SKIN
The Recon Expert Fortnite skin hasn't been seen in the item store for 920 days, making it the rarest Fortnite skin ever released. Recon Expert has only been in the Item Shop twice, on October 30, 2017 and November 12, 2017, and was available for 1200 V-Bucks.
Recon Expert is the default Fortnite stock skin type that was randomly used if you had no other gear selected prior to starting the game in Chapter 1.
NEW SKIN STYLE NO HAT
In today's Fortnite version 12.60 patch update, Recon Expert has received a brand new style to the surprise of many Fortnite players. The new style removes the hat from her head. Here's what the Recon Expert skin looks like now:
When Epic Games adds a new style to already released gear, we'll see it on sale in a few weeks after the update.
It will be interesting to see if Epic decides to add Recon Expert to the store in the near future. There aren't many owners of the skin, and I'm sure they won't be happy if their exclusive "OG" skin is up for sale in the store.
