How many followers do you need on TikTok to enable monetization?
It seems pretty easy to get loyal followers on TikTok. Participating in a viral dance or crazy trend can lead to you getting hyped. But how many followers do you really need to make some serious money?
TikTok currently has over 1 billion users worldwide and not everyone can be the next Bella Poarch or Dixie D'Amelio. Despite this, the application has become an effective tool for business and personal brand development.
There are several ways to make money on TikTok, including sponsorships and gifts. Once you reach a certain number of subscribers, you will be able to apply for a Creator Fund.
This is where creators who meet certain criteria can earn revenue from their videos. However, it is worth noting that funds “ebb and flow” depending on the involvement of the account.
Am I eligible to make money on TikTok?
According to TikTok itself, only users who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply to the App Creator Foundation:
- You must be located in the US, UK, France, Germany, Spain or Italy.
- Only users aged 18+ can apply!
- You must have at least 10 followers.
- Your videos must have 100 views in the last 000 days before you can apply.
- Post content that is in line with the TikTok community guidelines.
According to Business Insider, funds are not only distributed based on views. In fact, unlike Facebook and Instagram, virtually no ad revenue is shared with users.
An influencer with approximately 2 million followers can earn anywhere from $9 to $38 a day. It might be better not to quit your day job after all!
