Snowy Genshin Impact - Locations, characters, stories, secrets, and more.

Snowy — one of the seven kingdoms of Teyvat Genshin Impact. The people of Snowy worship the Cryo Archon the Queen, as well as Fatui, a military-religious organization under the control of the Queen, notorious for their desperate devotion and their unscrupulous methods of doing her will.

Chapter VI: The Merciless Frost happening in this region. In the Genshin Impact - Teyvat teaser, Dainsleif talks about the Queen and the Snow:

“Her people have no more love for her, just like she has for her people. People follow her only because they hope that one day she will raise the banner of war against the heavenly order.

Description of the Snowy Genshin Impact region

Snezhnaya is the land of eternal snow and ice. If you ask Nadia about her homeland, she will say that those who live in Snezhnaya are happy just to be alive, looking out of the window at the deadly winter blizzard raging outside.

Technologically, Snezhnaya is much more advanced than other countries in Teyvat. Description Agent's Ceremonial Knife calls it "a weapon made with the advanced technology of Snowball", while the description calls the Fatui Skirmishers soldiers "imprisoned in the Fatui war machine". Alice mentions "factories operating in Snowy" in the Teyvat Guide - Mondstadt, and Dottore is building a factory in Li Yue to conduct research on the Ruin Guardians, requiring no personnel to operate.

Adventurer's Guild comes from Snowy, and although this fact does not seem to be a secret, few people comment on it, and the Guild does not face the same fear that people have towards Fatui.

Details about Snezhnaya

  • Snezhnaya seems to be inspired by a mixture of Tsarist and Soviet Russia (primarily Siberia in regards to the landscape) and often uses Russian words for names. However, he also draws on other European countries, for example using the names of Italian commedia dell'arte characters for Harbingers.
    • "Snezhnaya" (Russian: Snezhnaya Snowy, "Snezhnaya") is a Russian adjective for "snowy", expecting a feminine noun. In the voice acting of the game, the stress is placed on the second syllable (Snow-on-i), but in the original word it is on the first (Snow-on-i).
      • During the first closed beta test, Snezhnaya was named "Beautiful".
    • "Polar" roughly translates to "beyond the Arctic Circle" or "inside the polar region".
    • "Sea Sand" (Russian Sea Sand Morepesok, “Sea-sand”) is a combination of the words sea (Russian sea more) and sand (Russian sand sand), per se referring to a beach or coastline.
    • "Tsaritsa" (Russian: Tsaritsa Queen, "Empress"), used to refer to their Archon, is the female form of King, which is ultimately derived from Caesar, the title of Roman emperors. So far no one has called her by her real name; The Snowmen refer to her by a title, while Venti and Zhong Li refer to her as "Cryo-Archon".
    • Snezhnaya's harsh winters coincide with Russia's climate, which is known to have contributed to bad luck. many military campaigns against it.
    • Tartaglia refers to the Traveler as "comrade" in her voice-over, a common translation of "tovarishcha" (Russian: comrade) used in Soviet/Bolshevik Russia.
    • In the Japanese version of Child's character collection, he begins his letter ("Dear Sister...") in Russian.
  • Firewater, which Angel's Share bartender Charles considers the strongest wine he knows, comes from Snezhnaya. This is a reference to vodka liqueur, a drink commonly associated with Russia. In real life, Russian vodka usually contains 45-55% ethanol, and some vodkas contain over 80% ethanol. make vodka one of the most alcoholic drinks in the world.
    • Chinese name, 火水 huǒ shuǐ, lit. "Fire-water", also a dialect word for "kerosene".
  • Chinese name for Snowy, 至冬 Zhidong, is an anagram of the Chinese term for winter solstice (冬至 dōngzhi).
  • Siberia has the Snezhnaya River, which may be the source of the region's name.
  • in the trailer Teyvat Chapter Storyline Preview: Travail under the name of the quest Everwinter Without Mercy there is a line written in Teyvat's Latin alphabet. She says:Ducam regina mea gloria haud pluribus impar", which roughly means "Let me lead my queen to almost unrivaled glory."
    • This is by far the longest of the seven phrases written in Latin in the video.
  • Tartaglia's flashback in his demo of the character (where the article image is taken from) shows Dragonspine and not Snezhnaya, probably because Snezhnaya has not yet been modeled.

Culture and Life in Snowy Genshin Impact

Due to the harsh climate of the Snow People, they spend most of their time indoors and consider life itself to be a blessing. There also seems to be a lot of focus on family relationships, as the snowmen who mentioned their family were very close to them.

Snezhnaya values camaraderie, cooperation, and straightforwardness. The Adventurer's Guild, a mutual aid organization for adventurers, was established in Snizhnaya, while archival descriptions for the Skirmishers of Fatui note that despite leaving their families behind to enter a dangerous profession, they "gained allies with whom one could go through thick and thin. Tartaglia claims that while Firewater is loved by most, those who drink it and chat together in the cold win the other's full trust. Drinking a whole glass of fire water at a time is the norm and is considered very respectful.

The Snezhnyans also demonstrate remarkable devotion to their Archon, the Queen. Those who have been sent abroad and have come to love their new country declare that, no matter the circumstances, they will never betray it..

You make a promise with your little finger - you keep it all your life. You break the pinky promise, I throw you on the ice. The cold will kill the little finger that once betrayed your friend, the frost will freeze your tongue so that you never lie again. - Snezhnyansky nursery rhyme

On the other hand, a strong sense of kinship and an emphasis on loyalty cause them to view any disloyalty, betrayal, or "duty" as a deeply personal affront. This seems to be the best-known aspect of the Snezhnya culture, as Paimon remarks that the above nursery rhyme "kind of says everything you need to know about the Snezhnya culture." Fatui has a whole "debt collection" department that hunts down those who owe some kind of "debt" to the state. Fatui, whether it be for money or because he offended the organization in some way.

Kitchen Snow Genshin Impact

The seaside areas of Snezhnaya mainly feed on seafood. It is unknown if this is true for all of Snezhnaya, or if it is largely limited to coastal towns. Snezhnaya is also known for its Fire Water, an extremely potent alcoholic concoction.

According to Tartaglia, one of Snezhnayan's authentic dishes is borscht, which usually refers to a sour soup made from beets.

TECHNOLOGY

Snow technology is undoubtedly superior to that of the other six countries. This is especially true of their military, as the Venti, Barbatos' mortal ship, claims they far outnumber other nations' military forces. The Fatui Military is the only known human faction in which all of its members are capable of elemental attacks, further highlighting their strength. Fatui Skirmishers cover both ranged and close quarters, with their ranged fighters using weapons or staves while Fatui Skirmisher - Electrohammer Vanguard wields a massive mallet and Fatui Skirmisher - Anemoboxer Vanguard wields a pair of boxing gloves. Skirmishers are also capable of infusing their equipment, boosting both offensive and defensive power at the same time, but it can be shorted out with enough dangerous reactions to temporarily stun its user, but groups with Anemoboxers are able to overcome this situation.

The knives used by Fatui agents are made with advanced technology and designed to exploit human weaknesses.

The former Harbinger Dottore Research Center does not require human staff to operate, saving on labor costs. Alice also notes that when she visited Snezhnaya, there were huge factories producing a wide range of goods that had not yet been seen in any other country.

Patterns, motifs and symbols

The following designs, motifs, and symbols are commonly seen on the Snow Sides.

Character cards

Since the only playable Snezhnayan so far is Tartaglia, who is one of the eleven Harbingers of Fatui, it is unknown if characters without Fatui will have a different character card. (For example, there are two different Liyue character cards depending on whether the character is affiliated with adepts or not.)

Tartaglia's character card features eleven emblems, each representing a Harbinger, located in the negative space between the larger and smaller circles. It is assumed that the emblems are also their Constellations, as Tartaglia (bottommost) is the same symbol used for his playable constellation Monoceros Caeli.

Emblem of Fatui

fatui emblem (unofficial name) is the fatui logo that can usually be seen on their masks and/or clothes and indicate that a person belongs to them. It features a stylized, filled-in Solomon's knot over another circular emblem.

Economy

Snowy is the second richest nation in Teyvat after Li Yue. This is primarily the result Harbinger Pantalonewho determines Snowy's economic policy and especially aims to make Snowy the richest nation in all of Teyvat.

Using her factories to mass-produce household goods, Snezhnaya exports her goods to other countries in Teyvat.

The Snezhnyansk merchants hoped to trade their Fire Water with Mondstadt, but this was cut short when Dilyuk refused the offer after drinking it for three days and realizing it was too strong for Mondstadt's tastes.

Festivals and holidays

Krsnik Noc

At present, little is known about Krsnik Nok, other than the fact that it is celebrated in Snijna. Ivanovic compares the festive mood during the Lantern Rite to the celebration of Krsnik Nok.

Policy

At present, it seems that Snowy is directly controlled by the Queen and Fatui. Some of the Eleven Harbingers of Fatui also play a vital role in snow politics and are sometimes personally involved in matters relating to international relations.

Most of Snowy's international relations are handled by Fatui, although their aggressive negotiating style and constant political and economic encroachment have given them a negative reputation. However, this does not seem to have much effect on merchants who are not directly connected to Fatui, such as Ivanović and Maxim, who did not face any overt prejudice from the natives. The Adventurer's Guild, despite hailing from Snowy, also doesn't have a negative reputation associated with it; however, it is also possible that her country of origin is not generally known.

Domestically, little is known about Fatui's reputation in Snowy. However, it is hinted that ordinary citizens have little to do with Fatui on a daily basis and see them mostly as a military organization. Tartaglia claims he doesn't want his family to "have anything to do with Fatui...or should I say Snowy...dark side"

Military

Fatui Snezhnayans conscript into military training, but qualifications for conscription are currently unknown and it seems that not everyone who enters military training necessarily joins Fatui.

The members of Fatui's army are made up of riflemen and more advanced groups sent to the region at the behest of their superiors. They are also divided by military rank, with the known ranks being rookie, sergeant, and lieutenant. Despite their power, marksmen do not operate on their own, but instead work with their comrades to surround and crush enemies. Higher-ranking members such as Agents, Cicin Mages, and Mirror Maidens usually operate on their own.

Agents, Cicin Mages, and Mirror Maidens also rely on Delusion rather than the elemental gear given to Gunslingers.

She teaches him how to navigate the Abyss, trains him to fight and hones his skill, the ability to cause chaos around him. After spending three months there, he returns to Teyvat, where only three days have passed since his disappearance.
      • The newfound chaos Ajax left behind caused his father to hand him over to Fatui, where his preternatural prowess in battle caught the attention of Pulcinella, the 5th Harbinger. Ajax was officially accepted into the Fatui and worked his way up until he became the youngest Harbinger to join their ranks.
