Apex Legends 'War Games' Event: Skins, LTMs, Rewards & More
The next Apex Legends event in Season 8 is the War Games, which will feature new skins, LTMs, and more. Here's what you need to know.
As the seasons of Apex Legends go on, Respawn Entertainment spices up the game with events.
These events - sometimes themed, sometimes collectible - bring new skins, game modes, relics and more to the action-packed battle royale.
While Season 8 isn't that far from over, there's still time for another event following Choas Theory. Mad Maggie returns to the War Games event.
Apex Legends War Games Event Start Date
The Apex Legends "War Games" event begins on April 13th and will run for two weeks until April 27th - shortly before the start of Season 9.
However, this event isn't collectible, rather, it's just there to spice things up for the rest of the season, with some skin and LTM repaints to play with.
Say goodbye to your precious games—Salvo's War Games are here instead. 🔥

Wargame skins, cosmetics and rewards
Unlike the Anniversary Collection Event or even Chaos Theory, the War Games are not loaded with map changes or a new relic, but are instead full of cosmetics. You can see them in action in the trailer above.
The War Games prize track will include five Battle Pass tiers, two amulets, an epic Rampart skin, a 30-30 Repeater skin, a Crypto rare skin, and Caustic stat trackers.
As in previous events, up to 1000 points can be collected per day, and challenges are updated daily. In addition, long-term challenges will be available to you, completing which during the event, you will receive four unique emblems. All of these challenges are also compatible with the Battle Pass, so you can play several at the same time.
As part of War Games, Pathfinder, Wraith, Lifeline, Gibby, Mirage and Bloodhound will be able to get updated versions of the classic appearance.
War Games LTM Mods
As for new game modes, there will be several of them in War Games. There will be five different game modes that change every 48 hours.

"War Games" captures
Second chance
A deafening start awaits us on April 13 with the first modifier - "Second chance". As part of this modifier, each legend gets one free respawn per match. After killing a legend, its respawn token is consumed, causing it to respawn with all weapons and equipment intact. After a short time, the player respawns high in the air and rushes down to return to the fight.
It's important to note that while Second Chance is active, players won't be able to unlock Assassin, Harvest, or Wrath Emblems, as these prestige emblems can be unlocked much more easily in this mode.
ultrazones
It then waits to test the perfect landing strategy with "Ultrazon"! "Ultrazones" are several hot zones on one map. More epic loot, more gold items! But that's not all! Each hotzone is in a hotspot, which you might be familiar with from the Season 6 LTM. For those who don't know, hotspots are huge, glowing bubbles that replenish health and shields when you stand in them. Consumable items in this mode are still available as usual in the loot list.
Auto-collection of banners
Waiting for you in the middle of the event "Auto collection of banners". As part of this modifier, a rather small but interesting change will be made to the procedure for reviving allies. Allied banners will be picked up automatically! You don't have to take their banners from the containers of death - you can immediately head straight to the spawn beacon. The loot list has been changed to include more mobile spawn beacons.
Time to kill
Feel the pressure in "Time to Kill". In this event, the match is accelerated when legends die. The round time decreases after the death of each legend. If the round turns into a real massacre, then the ring will close very quickly. As part of this modifier, it is very important to learn how to keep track of the round timer and the ring.
Armor Recovery
At the end of the event starts "Armor Repair". That's right, armor regenerates over time at a rate of 12 per second. Armor regeneration stops for 8 seconds when you take damage. This delay doubles to 16 seconds if your armor cracks. And the last thing about this mode: there are no shield slots in the loot list!
