A countdown has appeared in the Fortnite Season 18 lobby, which means Chapter 2 is coming to an end with a massive live event known as "The End" Finals.
Live Fortnite events are always impressive, and Epic Games usually chooses to end each season with an interactive experience, such as battling against Marvel villain Galactus or recent operation skyfire.
Now, it looks like another major story event is on the way. On November 24, a timer appeared in the Fortnite lobby that seemed to be counting down to the end of the current season — and the start of a live event called The End Finals.

What is the Fortnite season 18 countdown for?
Epic Games confirmed that the season 18 countdown leads to massive live event known as The End. It's a one-time interactive experience that also acts as the ending to the entire Chapter 2, so expect some great action.
After weeks of hovering ominously over the center of the Fortnite map, the Cube Queen will finally put her "endgame" plans into action during the event, meaning players will need to "fight the ultimate destroyer of all reality" and save the Island.
Players will be able to join the event in parties of up to 16 friends. The playlist for the Endgame will run 30 minutes before the start of the event, but it's a good idea to queue up at least an hour before to make sure you're on the server.
As a bonus reward, players who take part in the Fortnite The End final event will unlock a special loading screen and weapon wrap to mark the end of Season 18 and Chapter 2 as a whole.
The upcoming live event will put an end to Chapter 2 forever.
When does the Fortnite season 18 countdown end?
The countdown is currently scheduled for December 5th at 00:00 AM Moscow time. That's when the live end-of-season event known as The End is expected to kick off.
