Sony Working on New PlayStation VR Headset for PS5
The PlayStation VR headset for PS5 is already in development, but it won't be ready in 2021.
Sony is finally hinting at how PlayStation VR will develop for PS5 . Console manufacturer uncovered the first details of the new PSVR headset for its latest console, and the focus will be on both optimizing the overall experience and image quality. You can expect "big jumps" in performance, including higher resolutions, a wider field of view and better tracking, but you'll also get a new VR controller that will include DualSense controller elements and improved ergonomics. You won't be just waving redesigned Move controllers from 2010.
The new headset will also connect to the PS5 with a single cable. So it's not wireless, but it should still be less confusing than the stranded configuration of the current PSVR platform.
Unfortunately, you will have to be patient. Sony has warned you won't see a PS2021 VR headset in 5 - there's still "a lot" of work to be done. This teaser shows more that Sony is still committed to console VR, and that there will be a reason to upgrade to the new system if you're craving that extra immersion in your games.
