This page of our Call of Duty Vanguard Wiki contains step by step instructions on how to complete the third story mission: Stalingrad. How to get to the medical unit and save Mikhail.
NOTE . Unlike many previous Call of Duty games, there are no collectibles or intel in the Vanguard campaign. Just enjoy the game and "kill as many Fritz as you can".
After a short introductory video, Polina's brother, Misha, will return home, and her father, Boris, will insist that the family spend some time together.
Time with family
Sit in a chair at the table and start a conversation. When everything is over, Michael will leave and you will have the opportunity to look around the house.
When you're done, go outside.
Take Molotov cocktails to Mikhail
Follow the hallway leading to the stairs, then go down three flights of stairs and you will enter the lobby.
Misha is talking to someone outside, but he leaves before you can get to him. Keep moving and go around the yellow car on the left, then turn right.
Follow the path to find Mikhail talking to the guards. Interact with him to give him Molotov cocktails and a short conversation will take place.
Use the rooftops to get to the medical building
After the conversation is over, turn left and approach the pile of crates with yellow tarps on top of them, then use them to climb up to the roof (default A/Cross button).
Once you're on the roof, turn right and you'll see some bricks protruding from the front of the building, so use them to climb up to the roof, then turn left.
Run along the overpass and head to the window of the building across the street.
Once inside, turn right and follow the corridor until you see men moving furniture.
Crouch and turn right, then go through the tunnels to get to the other side to continue.
After leaving the tunnels, turn right and go out the window, going to the roof on the other side of the street.
Turn right and move towards the brick wall on the left. Climb up to get to the roof, then follow her as she turns left.
Jump down and follow the path to the left to reach another brick wall. Climb up it.
At the top, run straight and fall off the end (near the yellow tarp), then jump down again, run across the glass roof and fall off the edge at the end.
Come to the medical unit for duty
Follow the roof of the building on the left and you will see the Medical Corps and a few patrol tanks reaching the checkpoint.
Jump off the roof and go around the tank to find a couple of guards who will tell you that the passage to the Medical Building is currently blocked.
Find your way to the medical building
Turn right to find the crates as part of a hastily set up barricade, so crouch under them and walk through them.
Once you're able to stand up again, head straight ahead (towards the two talking guards), then turn right into an area filled with tents.
Follow the street until you reach a truck blocking the road, then go through the medical tent on the right to bypass it.
Continue along the road and go down the stairs to the end where the Medical Corps station is located.
Stand next to the medical unit's line of recruits and you'll hear planes approaching. Take a look at the sky
Get home
Go back the way you came and turn left once you're back on the main road.
This time, the bypass space is blocked and the truck blocking your passage has gone, so follow the train tracks through the sandbags.
We're going back to the house, so we run across the street, then up the hill and up the wall to get to the roof.
Follow the path to the left and climb the ledges at the end to reach the glass roof again.
Several planes will fly over you and attack you, so stick to the middle part of the glass roof, then stop about half way and turn left, then go along the glass windows on the left side to get to the other side (because the second plane will break the last panes in the middle).
Once on the other side, climb up the bricks in the wall to reach the upper level, then run across the rooftop through the broken section of the wall, then turn right and follow the path to the top of the slope and turn left. .
At this point, you will see a window across the street. Perform a running jump towards him and a short cutscene will play. When it's all over, climb the wall to re-enter the window.
Run through the door on your left, then keep sliding down and through the next doorway on your left.
Slide down to the open section of the wall, then jump at the end to reach the next building and a short cinematic will play.
Get home
Go through the door and down the stairs, then turn right. This area is filled with soldiers, so you have a choice.
Turn right to the first soldier and enter the house. Head into the next room right in front of you and turn left, then crawl through the rubble in the doorway.
Once you get to the other side, grab the knife from the table, then sneak behind the soldier into the next room and kill him.
Pick up your weapon, then turn left and return to the hall. Kill the soldier, then turn right and continue down the corridor.
NOTE : Since this is a medium to close range instant kill where we will be fighting most enemies, the Einhorn Revolver Shotgun is a great choice for this segment.
Kill the three soldiers in the room using the doorway as cover, then take the MP-40.
Go to the end of the room and you will find an open window.
Jump out to reach the roof, then climb the wall in front of you and climb up the small ledge on the left.
Walk across the ledge and you'll see Pauline's father in the window and a group of Nazi soldiers in the courtyard below.
Follow the ledge around the right side of the building, then drop down and go through the gap in the wall on the left.
Drop down and go to the other end of the room, then climb onto the small pile of rubble and jump up to the doorway on the next floor. He is marked with another yellow tarp.
After climbing through the door, turn left, then turn left, crawl to the window and open it.
Jump into the house and a short cinematic will play, in which Polina will pick up her father's rifle.
Kill the invaders
Approach the window on the left and use the rifle to kill the firing squad. Some will leave and run into the building, so kill any Nazis you see, then switch back to melee and turn around.
Kill the soldier who breaks into the room, then run into the corridor and follow it to the left. Kill the soldiers hiding behind cover in this room, then head down the stairs. Enemies will approach singly or in pairs, so kill them and keep going until you reach ground level.
When you get to the first floor, more will break into the room and they will use the luggage on the left as cover as well as the doorway.
Once they are all dead, go outside and turn left. Approach the wall and you will see Pauline's father.
Approach and talk to him.
Find Michael in the mail
Turn around and run away from the wall, then turn left to where you met Mikhail with Molotov cocktails.
Avoid column with tank
Wait on the side of the road until the first two tanks pass, then run through the gap between the second and third to get to the other side of the road.
Kill all the soldiers, then jump over the fence and enter the post office door on the left.
Once you get inside, go to the elevator and turn left, then go up into the air vent.
Turn right, then jump down and knock out the grate.
Kill the nearest Nazis, take any weapon you need and hide while shooting at the rest.
The booth next to the vent will make for great cover (if you need one) as you clear out the remaining soldiers.
A second wave will appear, so kill them and head outside.
Shoot any Nazi to your left through the barricade, then head down the slope to the trolleybus.
Walk through it while crouching through the rubble, then exit on the other side and climb up the rubble hill to the nearest wall.
Jump through the window and search the Molotov cocktail crates in the room and the PPSh-41 if you need a good automatic weapon, then dive through the vent to continue.
There are quite a few weapons in the next room, so get ready for a firefight with melee, mid, and ranged options depending on your preference (the next arena is big, but enemies might rush you if you engage in the lower levels), then replenish your ammunition.
Once you're settled, climb the wall at the far end of the room to reach another vent. Follow the vent and slide down at the end to reach the post office.
Save Michael
The post office is full of crawling points, many of the walls contain paths that Polina can use to climb to the upper level. Whether you want to shoot, sneak and sneak or just engage in a full blown gunfight.
Clear the area of the Germans
Fighting the first wave, reinforcements will arrive from the outer doorways. After taking cover, kill the guards in the center of the room last, which will allow you to reach the captives, including Mikhail.
After you free him, you will need to plan your escape.
Plan your escape with Michael
Follow him as he walks towards the far wall, then talk to him and he will help you up to the upper level.
Climb up to the roof using the pipes, bricks, and canvas ledges, then turn right and you'll find more bricks leading to a broken part of the wall.
Cover the partisans from the roof
Climb over the wall, then replenish ammo and Molotov cocktails.
Fascist distraction
Throw a Molotov at the Nazi soldiers below to start a firefight, allowing the partisans to start to leave.
ACHIEVEMENT : Complete this Guerrilla Defense section without missing a shot to get the achievement Future legend.
Widely use Polina's sniper rifle and Molotov cocktails to take out the soldiers and the second wave will come up from the right, including the paratroopers.
Save the partisans from a flank attack
Kill them and pay attention to the next wave, which takes cover behind the sandbags on the far left side.
Once they're dead, the Nazis will overrun the hotel across from you. Throw Molotovs and fire at them, and the snipers will take up positions in the upper windows.
Break through the ambush on the roof
Kill them and eventually the Nazis will take over the building to your left to try and deal with you. A handful will reach the roof, and Mikhail will take the hit.
Take cover and use one or two properly thrown Molotovs to get rid of them, then return your attention to the soldiers on the ground.
Regroup with Michael
Once they're dead, it's time to regroup with Misha. Fill up the ammo and the Molotov, then go to the left side of the roof and slide down the scaffolding next to the broken part of the wall.
When you reach ground level, go through the crater with the broken cart, go up the slope and turn left to find Mikhail at the bottom of the stairs.
Once you reach him, a cutscene will play, marking the end of the mission.
