War Dust VR: New 64 Player Battle Royale

new battle royale

Stand Out: VR Battle Royale is one of the most ambitious VR games on the market today. The game is currently in Early Access on Steam and supports up to 30 players pitted against each other on one large map in a deathmatch. Of course it's a battle royale Fortnite и PlayerUnknown's (PUBG), but it's completely in VR. You have to physically reload your weapon, you can move around the environment and even leave to take cover.

RaptorLab is a small indie studio, so the game has a lot of nuanced graphics and looks raw, but it has a dedicated community and a lot of ambition. Now, with the advent War Dust, the developers tried to make a more advanced version of the Royal Battle.

War Dust has twice as many players as Stand Out, up to 64 players can be on the map at the same time, plus the battle will include tons of different cars, several large maps and much more. All this to try and make your Battlefield VR dreams come true. The project is in Alpha right now (not even early access or beta), so it's even rougher than Stand Out, but already really impressive.

As you can see from the trailer, War Dust is more than just another VR shooter. You can fly jet planes and helicopters, ride tankers and quad bikes, and much more. The company's press release said that their vision for War Dust is to "create the feeling of being in the middle of actual combat," and not just small skirmishes like other representatives of the genre.

There is only one point of concern, and that is
number of players. Firewall Zero Hour, a PSVR-exclusive multiplayer shooter, has occasional downtime, and Sony is worried as three million PSVR headsets have been sold. Obviously, Oculus, Vive, and Windows VR sales aren't that great, but that doesn't stop Raptor Lab.

It's worth mentioning that Raptor Lab doesn't have much experience in real games. Their Steam catalog contains four games, these are two parts of Stand Out, Deus Vult, a fantasy game and War Dust that has appeared on the horizon.

Additional information about War Dust can be found on the official Steam page, and if you're interested in joining the Alpha test period starting today October 12, 2018, you can do so on the company's official server Discord.
