The Medium - Solving the Pumping Station Puzzle. How to Defeat the Monster.

If you play atmospheric horror game Bloober Team, The Medium , you know that there are many mysteries in it. These puzzles pick up pace towards the end of the game, with a tricky door code to solve and a more difficult water tank puzzle that takes place in the pumping station.

We have a solution that will allow Marianne to get through the pumping station by clearing the flooded stairs and opening the impenetrable door.

Solving the tank puzzle

In the control room at the pumping station, after power is restored, we examine the control panel with five water tanks. The liquid in them can fill the tank completely, half or completely absent. The buttons next to each tank direct the flow of water to the left or right between the connected tanks. At the very beginning, we use only the upper tanks, and the lower ones must be open. We follow all the instructions below in sequence to quickly solve the riddle:

• ⋅ Direct all the water to the upper right and upper middle tank, and check with what is shown in the image above.
• ⋅ After completing this operation, we move away from the station and go down the stairs, which was previously blocked by water.
• ⋅ Use the energy shield to protect the spiritual world of Marianne, find the valve and turn the handle to open the water tank.
• ⋅ After completing this action, turn around in the other direction, turn off the electricity using the switch that Marianne used earlier, and return to the control panel of the pumping station.
  
   

  

• ⋅ Now we send all the water to the upper left and upper middle tanks.
• ⋅ We pass to the right, go down the stairs and go into the western chamber.
• ⋅ We find the missing valve in the locker and use it to open the second water tank.
  
   

  

• ⋅ We return to the control panel and drain the water from the upper middle and upper right tanks, moving the water flow to the left of the central tank and to the right of the upper right tank.
• ⋅ We go down to the opened door and defend ourselves from the attack of the monster.

How to get past the Womb after the pumping station

After solving the puzzle at the pumping station, Marianne comes face to face with the monster again. Despite the fact that the heroine is stuck in the same room with a hostile creature, the way forward is much easier than it seems at first glance:

• ⋅ Immediately after the video, we go to the spirit world and run through the door to the left of the monster, located on the opposite side of the room from Marianne's location.
• ⋅ The hostile creature will follow the spirit of the girl, so we continue to walk to the end of the corridor.
• ⋅ If the creature caught the girl earlier, then immediately return to the real world.
• ⋅ We run to the end of the room to the switch located next to the door and use the lever to turn on the electricity.
• ⋅ Interaction with the switch will activate the current on the floor under the monster and hit him with a powerful charge.
• ⋅ Now the Womb is defeated and Marianne can safely continue on her way.
