The Outer Worlds Companions: All Companions You Can Recruit
How to use all Companions of The Outer Worlds: Nyoka, Max, Parvati, Sam, Felix and Ellie. We will help you figure out where to find them and who these people are.
If you don't fancy yourself a lone adventurer, there are six different Companion Companions you can add to your ranks. Every companion in The Outer Worlds has a unique quest line and the ability to attack during combat, they will also boost some of your skills and when you are not roaming around distant planets with them, they will wait patiently aboard your ship. All satellites of The Outer Worlds are located here, along with a description of where they can be found.
Parvati
The first companion you can find in The Outer Worlds is the Parvati you will find in Edgewater on Terra-2. The first time you head to the office to talk to Reed Tobson as part of the main quest, Parvati argues with Reed about fixing something before your arrival interrupts them. Listen to what Tobson has to say and Parvati will offer you to accompany you, after which you can accept or decline the offer. The new team member will give you the following bonuses:
- +10% chance to extract mods in the field;
- +25% to tactical timer;
- +10 Engineering.
You can take two quests from Parvati - "Eat Sapphire Wine" and "Don't Bite the Sun".
Ability
Overload: Parvati strikes with her hammer, creating an explosive wave that shakes enemies and stuns them.
Max
Vicar Max is the head of the church in Edgewater, and he wants you to help him find the book. After you get Parvati in your party (which is a very satisfying rhyme), they will have an interesting conversation and you can decide whether to take Vicar Max with you for a walk or not.
The Companion will give you the following bonuses:
- +10% to hack skill;
- +20% scientific weapon damage for all allies;
- +20% dialogue effect duration.
Max, like Parvati, has two quests - "Guide in Pictures" and "Dummy".
Ability
Trickshot: Max examines and evaluates his target and spiritually enlightens them with a salvo from his shotgun.
Sam
Sam is a friendly cleaning robot that you can already find aboard the Hopeless ship on the top floor, inside a small closet. Interacting with the sleeping auto mechanic will lead you to a quest called Sweeper, in which you must find acid to make Sam work again.
Rorbot gives you the following bonuses:
- +10 to the skill of intimidation;
- +20% damage to auto mechanics;
- 20% negative reputation for kills.
Ability
Decontamination: Sam jumps into the air and slams close to his target, spewing caustic cleaning fluids all around to clean up those really tough stains.
Felix
When you first dock with the Pathfinder, the first group of people you'll encounter include strongman Felix arguing with a corporate soldier outside of customs. Talk to him and he will eventually apologize for wasting your time. When you walk past him again, engage in conversation and you can purchase his services.
His bonuses look like this:
- +10 persuasion skill;
- +20 damage to Corporate military;
- +20 damage to evading enemies.
Ability
Dropkick: Felix grabs his target, jumps into the air and slams into the target with both feet.
Alley
Inside the Hopeless, you will find a medical bay. Here you can find Ellie arguing with one Dr. Mfuru about a patient, Jessie, and how Ellie wants to see her but she is not allowed to enter the quarantine area. As you might expect, you can offer to solve Ellie's problem for her, which you need to do by purchasing a Market ID cartridge. Complete the quest, which also includes a conversation with Bedford, and you can have Ellie in your arsenal.
She will give you the following:
- +10 to medical skill;
- restores 25% of health when mortally wounded;
- +20% to treatment with an inhaler.
Ability
Quick Draw: Ellie quickly draws her gun and fires a series of accurate shots at her target.

Nyoka
When you eventually get to the planet Monarch, you can capture the sixth and final satellite, Nyoka. She's in the bar right in front of you as you descend from the Stellar Bay landing pad, and talking to her sends you on a quest to get some pills for her. Return with the "medicine" she demands and she will be your guide to Monarch and then follow you wherever you go.
Nyoka will increase the following parameters for you:
- +10% to lie skill;
- +20% additional damage to creatures;
- -20% to the audibility of your steps.
Ability
Barrage: Nyoka uses her personally modified LMG to damage her target and set enemies near her on fire.
