THE OUTER WORLDS ATTRIBUTE LIST
Attributes are statistics that you can apply to your character, which will help strengthen your skills! Each attribute has specific skills that it affects, so you need to choose wisely and make sure you take the ones that will boost the skills you plan to use.
Body
- Force: Affects melee weapon damage and the amount you can carry.
- Influence: 1-Melee, 2-Melee, Heavy Weapons, Block, Inspiration, Intimidate
- Agility: Affects melee attack speed and ranged weapon reload speed.
- Influence: 1-Melee, Pistols, Dodge, Block, Stealth (sneak), Lockpick
Mind
- Intelligence: Affects critical hit bonus damage.
- Influence: Persuasion, Hacking, Medicine, Science, Determination, and Ranged Weapons.
- Perception: Affects headshots and weak points (damage bonuses).
- Influence: Pistols, Ranged Weapons, Heavy Weapons, Dodge, Lockpicks, and Engineering Skills.
Personality
- Charm: Affects the reputation of the faction and the ability of the companion to cooldown.
- Influence: Persuasion, lies, intimidation, hacking, science and inspiration.
- Temperament: Improves your natural health regeneration.
- Influence: 2-skills in hand-to-hand combat, lies, meanness, medicine, engineering and determination.
THE OUTER WORLDS LIST OF SKILLS
Skills are a big part of what makes your character unique. You'll earn some every time you level up, and early on in your development, you can add them to broad categories. If you get a certain category to 50 or higher, you can add points to certain skills. There will also be equipment that you can wear that will give you bonus stats to certain skills.
Hand-to-hand fight
Melee skills improve critical strike chance with hand weapons. Each point in melee greatly increases 1-handed and 2-handed melee skills, up to 50 points each. After 50, you can specialize by adding points directly to 1-hand melee or 2-hand melee.
1 hand fight
The 1-handed melee skill increases the critical strike chance with 1-handed melee weapons.
- 20: Unlock power and development attacks
- 40: Unlock TTD location of hit effects
- 60: +30% to weapons in 1 hand
- 80: -50% misfire
- 100: Attack Strength and Accuracy Chance to Stun +25%
2 hand fight
Dual-handed melee skill increases critical strike chance with dual-handed melee weapons.
- 20: Unlocks the power and deployment of attacks
- 40: Unlocks hit effects
- 60: 2-handed melee weapons attacks are unlocked
- 80: -50% miss
- 100: Attack Strength and Accuracy Knockdown Chance +25%
DISTANCE
Ranged skills improve your weapons, and the chance of a critical hit with ranged weapons. Each dot in ranged significantly increases pistols, long range cannons, and heavy weapon skills, up to 50 points each. After 50, you can specialize by adding points directly to pistols, ranged cannons, or heavy weapons.
Revolver
Pistol skill reduces weapon sway when firing one-handed firearms, and also increases the chance of a critical hit with that weapon.
Ranged weapon
The Long Range Cannon skill reduces weapon sway when firing rifles and other long cannons, and increases the chance of a critical hit with this weapon.
Heavy weapon
The Heavy Weapons skill reduces weapon sway when firing heavy firearms, and also increases the chance of a critical hit with that weapon.
PROTECTION
Defense skills improve your ability to avoid damage. Each point in defense greatly increases your dodge and block skills, up to 50 points each. After 50, you can specialize in adding points directly to dodge or block.
Evasion
The dodge skill increases the distance traveled when dodging and reduces the duration of detrimental status effects.
Block
The Block skill provides a bonus armor rating while holding a melee weapon and can allow a perfect block (unlocked at 20).
DIALOG
Dialogue skills improve your ability to communicate with NPCs, both in and out of combat. Each item in the dialogue greatly increases persuasion, lying, and intimidation skills, up to 50 points each. After 50, you can specialize by adding points directly to persuading, lying, or intimidating.
Conviction
Persuasion is used in conversations and also has a chance to inflict Cower (crippling fear) the first time you damage a human target.
False
The lie skill is used in conversations, and also has a chance to damage (slowly attack allies) on auto mechanics when attacking you.
Intimidation
The intimidate skill is used in conversations and has a chance to inflict terror (run for a short time) on nearby creatures when you kill one.
SECURITY
Stealth skills improve your ability to pass and bypass danger. Each dot in STEALTH greatly increases Thief, Lockpick and Lockpick skills, up to 50 points each. After 50, you can specialize by adding points directly to theft, lockpicking or lockpicking.
Thief
The Sneak skill reduces the detection range when you are crouching, increases NPC awareness, and allows pickpockets to attack.
Break
Lockpicking skill reduces lockpicking time and the number of bypass shunts needed to lockpick, and may allow you to lockpick an Automechanical.
Master key
The lockpick skill reduces the unlock time and the number of lockpicks needed to pick locks.
