The fact that Dwayne Johnson is teasing confirms the correctness of the Fortnite fan theory.
Fortnite and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson have been linked by fan theory for some time now. But in a recent Twitter post, the actor himself hinted to fans that they were right all along.
For a game without a traditional campaign, Fortnite's ongoing battle royale story is a constant source of fan speculation. A testament to how Epic Games pulled players into a game universe where every match has the same format.
With Chapter 3 just around the corner, the fan chat has never been this excited as players try to figure out what's in store for us after The End event. But in fact, this is an old theory that is again speculating on fans.
While he never appeared in Fortnite as himself, The Rock has been the subject of a long-standing theory. And the actor just dropped the biggest hint that it was true all along.
The Founder is one of the most enigmatic characters in Fortnite.
Ever since he first appeared at the end of Season 15, Fortnite fans have speculated that the Founder, leader of the Seven, is actually the prototype of the former WWE superstar.
Not only does the masked character's voice bear a resemblance to that of the Fast and Furious star, but his armor also resembles the Rock's tattoo on his left chest. Insiders also discovered in the game's files that all of The Foundations' strings are stored in a folder called "DJ" (like Dwayne Johnson's initials).
We've had several moments with the Founder since he debuted and the speculation has never gone away. Now The Rock has stoked the heat of a fan theory.
In a recent video on twitter, in which his Zoa Energy brand is advertised, Johnson pulls a can of drink from the refrigerator. On the top shelf, among the energy drinks, you can see the Visitor's helmet. While he won't admit it, it's a clear nod to Fortnite fans, and he even tweets the words "Foundation" and "Zero Point." These words are well known to Fortnite fans, which stand for Zero Point and the Founder.
While this may be The Rock's prank on gamers, it raises the question of whether he will be canonized in the game anytime soon. Unfortunately, it's impossible to tell from this post if we'll see The Rock on the island anytime soon.
However, with Chapter 3 and the all-new Battle Pass, there may soon be room for an undisguised Founder outfit with Johnson's face on it.
Unfortunately, we'll have to wait a little longer to find out the answers to this ongoing mystery. Keep an eye on PortalVirtualRealuty for all the latest news on the new era of Fortnite.
