With the explosion of streaming, more aspiring gamers and artists are trying to become the next big star, but current streamers have already attracted millions of fans - here are the top 20 most followed streamers on Twitch.
Before Fortnite came and took over Twitch in 2018, the streaming landscape looked very different, but it has grown exponentially, with many of the biggest names on the internet coming from Twitch's streaming background.
While some broadcasters are closely associated with a single game, such as Turner 'Tfue' Tenney and Fortnite, others have built a following on what is known as "variety" streaming, while others attract fans through their prowess, sometimes doubling as professional players.
Ninja goes into the mixer, leaving the first line open
Ninja is number one in terms of followers, with over 14 million, but he's since moved to Mixer so he's technically no longer the number one Twitch streamer.
At the time of Ninja's move, former CS:GO pro Michael 'Shroud' Grzesiek was in second place with over 6 million followers, but Fortnite streamer Tfue took advantage of Ninja's departure to overtake Shroud and is now in second place.
TSM Myth, who briefly took second place in 2018, now sits in fourth place with over 5 million followers.
Veteran streamers like Saqib 'LIRIK' Zahid and Jaryd 'summit1g' Lazar are still in the top 20, showing that even after nearly a decade of streaming, the loyal fan base will hold on and grow.
Imane 'Pokimane' Anys is the only female streamer to rank in the top 20 with 3,1 million and is likely to stay that way for some time, with Amouranth next in popularity, just behind 85, with just over 1 million followers.
