Twitch Announces Virtual GlitchCon After TwitchCon 2020 Cancellation
In 2020, most of the planned live events have either been canceled or moved entirely online, and it looks like TwitchCon 2020 will suffer the same fate once announced on November 2nd.
TwitchCon is that time of year when you can find most of the top streamers on the platform all gathered together in one place, and as a result, it's often a veritable goldmine for content.
All of that will change this year, however, as due to ongoing events, Twitch has decided to cancel the in-person gathering and instead host an entirely online digital event called GlitchCon.
Because no fun was ever had by NOT going into an interdimensional portal.

A lot of events, not only dedicated to video games and esports, have been forced to move online this year, but TwitchCon is a very interesting occasion because this is the only time of the year when viewers can hope to meet their favorite streamer in person.
Obviously, that won't be possible this year, and what exactly Twitch has planned for GlitchCon remains unknown, but we hope we'll know more by the time it kicks off on November 14th.
If it's anything like an IRL convention, we can expect it to showcase the various artists, cosplayers, and communities from the site, though exactly how they'll manage to do so remains to be seen.
With travel restrictions in place, many fans won't be able to make it to the real TwitchCon, so this all-online experience (whatever it is) should allow everyone to participate, no matter where they are.
Unfortunately, this means you won't be able to get an xQc autograph, befriend Tyler1, or wait in line to see Pokimane as everything is now happening in the digital realm, so it will be interesting to see how Twitch gets streamers and their communities involved in new event.
It's also unknown when the November 14th festivities will begin, but stay tuned for all the latest information and news on what's to come from GlitchCon 2020.
