Twitter is exploring ways to monetize its social platform as the company wants to expand its revenue stream with new features or subscription options for the site.

According to the report Bloomberg Twitter Inc. I wanted to expand the way I made money so that I didn't depend on advertising. The company has had ideas for years on how to integrate premium features and such.

While these products are not meant to hit social media in 2021, there is reportedly a growing discussion on Twitter about the need to expand various opportunities to receive money.

Some of the features discussed range from a fee to a Tweetdeck business package, a subscription of sorts, and even "tips" to support human creators, according to user survey ideas.

"Tips" will allow people to follow exclusive content, and Twitter extracts part of the transaction.

There are tons of features that Twitter users have been calling for for years. Everything from the edit button to additional privacy features and more. Last year, tech reporter Andrew Roth showed off multiple survey options that also included "unsubmit, custom profile badges, and advanced analytics" to gauge people's interest in possible features.

This survey also came up with the idea of a service that allows people to block ads for a monthly fee. This has also been discussed before, but not yet taken into account.

One of the easiest integrations can be ad-free browsing for Twitter users. This would be something that would be of interest to the site's large mobile user base.

Head of Revenue, Bruce Falk, said they will also look at "unique features and advanced capabilities for content creation, discovery and engagement."

It's not clear what these possible features might be, although it might be interesting for people who have built a large audience on the platforms.

As Twitter seeks to diversify how it generates revenue, it will be interesting to see how they try to attract new business from the people who currently use their site.
