How to get to the first bell and ring it

According to the quest, you need to find two bells and ring them to dispel the black fog. One of them is located in the northwest of the location, the other is in the southeast. The map of the Rift region in Genshin Impact is made inconveniently, since in most cases it is not clear whether you need to go deeper or, conversely, go up. Therefore, you may encounter difficulties while finding the right path.

Teleport to the Stone Halls and follow the road north through the Unnamed Ruins. At the entrance to the cave, a Ruin Thresher will be waiting for you, and immediately after it, you will meet with a new enemy - the Black Serpent Knight. The last one will appear when you approach the wall.

Get to the marked area and find the fairy. Follow her, examine the box and find a stele that reacts to light. Approach it with a charged adjuvant so that a stream of air appears in front of you. Climb up and kill the abyss mage.

Use the adjuvant to activate the device next to which the abyssal mage was standing. Now you can hit him, releasing blobs of light and getting rid of the dark liquid. It is enough to clean one of the four mechanisms nearby, after which you can restore the energy of light and use the adjuvant on other stones.

When all the stones are cleared of the dark liquid, two denizens of the Rift will appear. Deal with them and ring the bell.

How to get to the second bell and ring it

Return to the Stone Halls and follow the road south. Here you will see a descent down. Keep going down until you reach a fast travel point.

Immediately after that, fly to the destroyed bridge and climb up to the building. Here you need to kill the ruin thresher to get inside. Once you've done that, enter the building and look for two fairies. If you solve the puzzle, you will be able to open a precious chest and activate the wind flow.

To do this, place the fairies next to the steles that react to light. These steles are located in opposite parts of the building. Ignite the device for light, then approach the last stele with charges of light.

Jump into the wind current and climb to the top of the building. Place the fairy next to the opposite stele and activate the device to open the grate. Go downstairs, defeat the ruin thresher and ring the bell. Don't forget to deal with the hilichurls and collect valuable items from the rich chest.

How to get rid of the fog and complete the quest "A Threat in the Dark"

Once the two bells are active, return to the black mist in the Unnamed Ruins. You will see a cut-scene in which the fog clears, but two enemies appear - Agnarr and Egill. These are familiar monsters that you may have already encountered while completing other quests.

You can deal a lot of damage to these enemies when they are standing next to each other. To do this, use the Traveler's anemo abilities. When the monsters have some health left, they activate their shields. Try to keep the opponents close to each other. This way you will deal with them much faster.
