Fortnite Season 5 Weapon Upgrades: NPC Locations and Upgrade Guide

From a completely revamped quest engine and a new currency system to verbal interactions with cool NPCs throughout the game, Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 has become a great journey that we don't want to end.
Of course, a very important and aspect of the game is the weapon upgrade system, which also changed quite a lot in the fifth season.
Unfortunately, if you're hoping to find old trusty workbenches from previous seasons to take your weapons to epic levels, you won't be able to find them in the game. Everything looks different this season.
How to upgrade weapons in Fortnite Season 5?
NPCs will play a very important role in upgrading your weapons. Contrary to our first impression, their role goes far beyond simply adding cosmetic value to the game. Characters have been placed in certain locations on the map to upgrade your weapons for a certain cost in gold bars.
The only way to upgrade weapons is to find the right NPC and interact with them.
So while the NPC's location is not an upgrade station (workbench) per se, it can be considered one, as your weapons can be upgraded here.

Karas - Beach Village (map: north)
Get to the diner, which is part of the building in the Beach Village. Inside the diner you need to find the well-known crucian carp. This NPC will give you the opportunity to upgrade weapons. Another Fishstick is present right in the center of Coral Fortress. Approach the location marker on the map and you should be able to find it.
The Reaper - Boost Pad - Near the Careless Shore (Map: West)
You will be able to see a really beautiful secluded beach house by the sea. Enter the house and find the Murderer. You will most likely find him walking around the house. Keep in mind that Soulbreaker is the only character that offers upgrades in the west.
Robocat - Nook (Map: SE)
Go to the Secluded Corner area and find the Robot Cat. You will most likely find it near the trailer.
Reese - Dirty Docks (Map: East)
Get to the last storage building, which is located near the coastline. Once inside, go to the second floor with many office cubicles. Here you will meet Reese, who will allow you to upgrade your weapons.
Big Guy - Dirty Docks (Map: East)
You'll find the Big Man inside a building in the very south of the Dirty Docks. The building is located on a pier protruding into the sea.
Condor - Mountain Town (Map: South)
A new character that appeared in Chapter 5 Season 2 of Fortnite Condor is walking along the main street of the Mountain Town.
Repair Girl (Sparkplug) - Gas Stations (Map: Southwest)
You can meet the repairwoman at three gas stations on Fortnite Island. First place - gas station in Lonely Lake; the second is a gas station between the Nectar Lowland and the Sobbing Grove; the third - at the gas station at the crossroads between the Mountain Town and the Nectar Lowland.
Burger Man - Durr Burger Cafe (Map: West)
There are two Durr Burger establishments. One of them is located west of the Weeping Grove. You need to find the Beef Boss in Durr Burger to upgrade your weapon. The second cafe is located next to secret stronghold, if you move from it towards the Beach Village.
Tomato Head - Pizza Pete (Map: northeast)
There are 2 places on the island where Senor Tomato lives. A cheerful character lives in a dilapidated pizzeria near the Colossal Colosseum. The second pizzeria is located on the edge of the map behind the Nectar Hollow.
How to upgrade weapons in fortnite season 5
As mentioned earlier, you need to visit an NPC character who can upgrade your weapon. Another aspect you need to consider is whether you have enough gold bars to pay for the upgrades you need. If you don't have enough ingots, you can complete quests for NPCs and earn ingots.
To interact with the NPC, press the "E" key on the PC, the X button on the Xbox controller, and the square button on the Playstation controller.
Once the interaction starts, approach the up arrow slot and equip it with a weapon if you don't already have one. If you already have a weapon, then in the slot you will see options for improving it.
How much does a weapon upgrade cost?
As with previous seasons, the cost of upgrading a weapon depends on how rare it is. However, the cost of the material does not matter.
So upgrading to Uncommon will cost you 50 gold bars, upgrading to Rare will cost you 150 gold bars, upgrading to Epic will cost you 250 gold bars, and finally the highest tier i.e. Legendary will cost you 350 gold bars.
You need to make sure you have enough ingots to upgrade your weapons to the level you want.
