The well-known author of repacks of pirated video games xatab died from complications of viral pneumonia on the background of severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. About it сообщает group VKontakte Xatab RePack.
It is noted that the Xatab brand of the same name was left without an heir and will cease to exist. There will be no more new hacked games from this author. The official VKontakte group called for "beware of speculators", who may try to turn the situation to their advantage.
Xatab is known to have suffered from lung problems. On March 3, information appeared that in recent days the state of health of the author of the repacks had deteriorated significantly. Fans raised funds for the treatment of a celebrity, but, apparently, he could not recover. Perhaps his death is related to the coronavirus. His last repack was released for the game Loop Hero.
Many consider xatab to be some kind of hacker, but it's worth noting that he hasn't hacked any games himself. The author should rather be called a releaser. Video games broke SPY, CODEX and other figures, and xatab only took Steam-rip, added a “pill” already created by someone and neatly packed all this stuff into an installer.
At the same time, the author’s works were distinguished by the fact that the repacks were reliable and working, made it possible to select the necessary DLC or modifications during installation, and almost never caused a hostile reaction from antiviruses.
Radik Nazimov was 60 at the time of his death. It was considered the most popular repacker and was familiar to almost every user of pirated content in the CIS countries. For 10 years, the repacker has been creating images of hacked games for installation on user PCs and uploading them to torrent trackers. Many believe that with him "an era gone".
