Leak: DOOM Eternal: The Ancient Gods Part 2 Resurfaced on the Bethesda Store
Someone at Bethesda just made the mistake of posting the entire DOOM Eternal: The Ancient Gods Part 2 product page with screenshots and the game's official cover art. Although the page was promptly closed, the leak was recorded in Internet archives.
Here are some screenshots from the store page:
First, we see a DOOM guy wielding a hammer, which is in line with the achievements leaked on Steam the other day mentioning the Sentinel Hammer. This further confirms our suspicions that the character from DOOM 2016 will return in DLC.
Then there's this screenshot, which looks completely different from anything in DOOM. While DOOM is based on Mars and Hell, the leaked screenshot appears to be the setting for one of Tolkien's stories. It is not yet clear whether this is a shot from the game level or just a cut-scene.
The other leaked screenshot also doesn't look like anything from DOOM. However, instead of being set in Tolkien's story, it appears to be a post-apocalyptic industrial complex.
The last of the leaked screenshots is not surprising. Looks like the place where DOOM will take place.
Finally, we'll take a look at the new enemy types from the upcoming DOOM Eternal DLC. The new enemies seem to be much stronger with an emphasis on defense. Perhaps this is where the guard hammer comes into play. Break the shield with a hammer and attack with melee weapons or shoot bullets from afar.
The leaked footage and information further confirms our anticipated summer 2021 release.
