Fortnite Leak Hints at Return of Launch Pads in Season 5

Normally the change of seasons in Fortnite is all about adding new content to the yoke and sending old hardware to storage, but this time around, it looks like the good old Launch Pad is about to make a comeback.

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 has been an incredible adventure since the very beginning in August. However, now that everything is almost ready and cleaned up, the players are looking forward to the next season.

Like most seasonal changes, it will no doubt include all sorts of new items. Fortnite players are looking forward to everything from ubiquitous map changes to new skins, weapons, and of course Battle Pass content.

It's not always about what's new. The new season often includes other changes, such as the removal or "reworking" of past items. For example, in the latest season, launch pads were removed for the first time since they were added back in November 2017.

This was by no means the most significant change, but it changed the landscape of the game to some extent. Launchpads played a key role in any game and often determined the pace and verticality.

Fortnite players have had mixed reactions to Launch Pads. Some felt they provided too much mobility and needed to be loosened or removed. Others thought they were fine and the panels made the game more interesting.

Either way, a recent leak hints that they may be back in the game sooner than expected.

Fortnite insider Mang0e has been digging through v14.60 game files and found that they contain launchpads. “It looks like some of the launch pad assets have been added back to the files,” he said.

However, keep in mind that the presence of launchpads in the files does not necessarily mean that they will return to the game. To the best of our knowledge, they may be present at the event or at the LTM.

However, with the Unvaaled event over and the launch pad nowhere to be found, the leak is strong evidence that their return in Season 5 could be on the map.

After all, no one will know until the start of next season. However, this is an exciting prospect that is sure to change the dynamic of the meta once again.
