Leak Hints At Possible Fortnite And Splatoon Collaboration
New files that have been unearthed by dataminers suggest there could be a collaboration with Splatoon in Fortnite Battle Royale.
Epic Games has worked with many companies to bring collaboration to Fortnite fans. In the past we have seen association with Avengers: Endgame, John Wick, Very strange things, Michael Jordan and more recently It: Chapter Twoalthough this collaboration has only just begun.
Most of the collaborations that have taken place tend to be around some limited time modes that reward players with cosmetics and other themed bonuses that can be purchased from the Fortnite Item Shop.
Three well-known dataminers at once, @HYPEX, @s1l0x и @ Lucas7yoshi found several files that suggest that there may be a new collaboration with Splatoon in the future. Splatoonis a game developed by Nintendo and players control "inklings": creatures that can change their form between a humanoid and a squid, as well as hide and swim on ink-colored surfaces, pre-painting them with various weapons such as machine guns, buckets or brushes.
There are different game modes, but in the main mode, Turf Wars, there are two teams of four, and the goal of the game is to cover the arena with as much ink of their team as possible in a given amount of time.
The files that Data-miners found are called:
CID_TBD_Athena_Commando_M_SquidKid
BID_TBD_SquidKid
The first file found is for the skin and the second is for the back decoration, although no image was found. The name of the files seems to fit in with the theme of Splatoon, as there is a cosmetic in the game called Squidkid.
Nothing has been confirmed for this collaboration yet, but we'll keep you updated if more information is released. What do you think of this potential collaboration?
