Leak suggests Elex 2 launch on March 1, 2022
A recent leak may contain an Elex 2 launch date along with its many Collector's Edition bonuses, including a premium character statue and an original keychain.
According to the leaked trailer, Elex 2 will arrive on March 1, 2022 - right after the February brawl.
It looks like publisher THQ Nordic released the Elex 2 Collector's Edition trailer earlier than planned. The original footage was quickly removed from YouTube, but the leak has spread through the network with multiple re-uploads and screenshots. The list at the end of the video shows Elex 2 coming to PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One on March 1 next year.
This is the first time we know the exact launch date for the sequel to the old-school open-world RPG that was announced this past June. Piranha Bytes originally planned to release Elex 2 at the end of 2021, but things seem to have changed, which is not surprising given the impact of COVID-19. From the looks of it, pre-orders for the game will start pretty soon.
The leaked footage also shows an early look at the physical Collector's Edition, which can be seen above. Elex 2 fans will receive an ornate steel book, a detailed 9,2-inch statue of Alb (one of the game's factions), a Clerics metal keychain, an artbook depicting the game's post-apocalyptic setting, an additional concept album from creative director Bjorn Pankratz, and an original soundtrack. A copy of the game will also be included in the Collector's Edition for all platforms.
Elex 2 is a direct sequel to 2017's Elex from the team behind the Gothic and Risen series, in which the main character of the first part, named Jax, is now with his seven-year-old son. Players can expect major improvements to the expansion's features such as jetpacks, dogfighting, faction and companion systems, and more. However, the developers decided not to focus on how to make Elex 2's open world bigger, but on how to fill it with interesting places and various activities.
More information about Elex 2 can be found at game page on Steam where you can add the project to your waiting list.
