The new update for Phasmophobia will add two new types of ghosts, Yokai and Hantu. The patch will bring new everyday tasks and features that improve the quality of life.

In " Phasmophobia" teams of up to four players take on the role of amateur ghost hunters. They explore typical horror locations such as schools and haunted houses in an attempt to identify ghosts in order to earn money. Players with Phasmophobia using different tools, to tag ghosts, including your own voice through Ouija boards and other devices. Eventually the spirits will become increasingly hostile and will begin to hunt the players in response.

developer phasmophobia Kinetic Games tweeted an image of his public Trello board, revealing that the next two ghosts will be Yokai and Hantu. A visit to the Trello board shows how players will interact with the two new spirits, as well as their strengths and weaknesses. They also said that after the update, new daily challenges will be available. There will also be an option to reset the game file if it gets corrupted.

Yokai is the Japanese word for ghost. There are several varieties of yokai, many of which are an important part of Japanese folklore. Phasmophobia Yokai usually found in family homes and are drawn to the voices of the players. They will get angry if players talk to them too much, but they have a limited hearing range when hunting. The best evidence that can be used on Yokai is the Spirit Box, Ghost Orb, and Ghost Writing.

On the other hand, Hantu is translated from Indonesian as "spirit". Traditionally it refers to nature spirits, but in modern usage it equates to any ghost or demon. For their iteration phasmophobia they will be rare spirits, which appear only in warm conditions. Cold weather is their time to strike, and they pick up speed when moving in cooler temperatures. However, heat will slow them down. Players are encouraged to use Fingerprints, Ghost Letter, and Ghost Orb when cataloging the Hunt.

Players on Twitter are already excited and many are hoping that the update will breathe new life into the world of the dead. Some refer to Yokai Watch, in while others hope the new ghosts respect their origins. While it's not known when the update will release, fans are hoping they won't have to wait too long to explore these new ghosts.
