Into the Fire Walkthrough God of War: Ragnarok

Walkthrough God of War: Ragnarok 100%. Into the fire (Into the Fire) is the third quest Ways, which represents the main storyline of Ragnarok. Walkthrough Into the Fire God of War: Ragnarok

Find the mask fragment with Thor

This quest has an interesting premise - you play as Atreus, visiting Muspelheim for the first time, and your companion is none other than Thor. He's here mostly to help out during puzzles, and only occasionally in combat.

At certain points during the mission, you need to equip the mask fragment (d-pad on the left) and use it as a compass. It shows the correct path by turning green. Thor will destroy the first set of stones blocking the way forward.

If nothing happens after turning in the right direction, try to approach the ledge and/or move the camera vertically. This may be necessary to complete the action.

You will reach the Flaming Rocks. In this and subsequent battles, you can treat Ingrid's received sword as a companion - use the Square to give commands to it. Ingrid can perform single attacks or perform combos (by holding down the command button). The sword is especially useful when dealing with enemies with shields, as it disarms them before Atreus attacks.

After the area is cleared, use the mask again - Thor will grab Atreus and jump to a new location.

Take care of the monsters that spawn (use the bow to defeat the enemies on the higher/remote ledges). If you don't know where to go, wear a mask.

Walk along the narrow edge next to the lava and get ready for another fight. After the area is cleared, put on the mask and go to the edge (screenshot) as sometimes the scene won't run otherwise. You and Thor will reach the Molten Basin.

Another battle is expected and this time Thor will join it after some time. It may seem difficult at first, but don't worry - you don't have to personally kill both big beasts. You can attack monsters from a distance or in close combat - take advantage of the fact that they are slow. If there are too many enemies, use Spartan Fury and Atreus' special attacks.

Explore the Sanctuary of Surt

When the battles are over, choose the marked path and start climbing - jump to the nearest ledges. Deal with the wisps you come across (use special arrows to stun them) and be sure to destroy the nearby totems (example in the picture - you can use any attack you see fit).

After the area is cleared, activate the shrine. Watch the cut-scene and go through the portal to return to Muspelheim.

Resume Search for the Mask Fragment

You will return to a familiar location for another battle - as you defeat opponents, new ones will become more and more powerful. The battle is easier than it seems - Thor will come to the rescue.

Put on your mask and find your way forward - Thor will clear the stones blocking the path. Use the mask to find the correct path. Here you have to fight by quickly pressing X - do this to collect the mask from 2 fragments.

Return to Atreus' quarters

You returned to Asgard and met with Odin. All you have to do is leave the Rift and get to Atreus' room in the Grand Lodge. Approach the bed and interact to complete the task. A new task (Fate) will begin, where you are again with Kratos.

Before leaving the Rift, you can optionally explore a previously inaccessible place - there is a large chest there.
