« Children of the Corn" Stephen King is getting a new prequel/reboot and the first batch of spooky promotional footage has just been released. Written and Directed by Kurt Wimmer Equilibrium , the film is about what happened before the 1984 adaptation of King's story. This adaptation will be added to King's long list of films, making it one of the most well-screened authors in the world and will be the eleventh film in the series " children of the corn ».
In Wimmer's adaptation, a 12-year-old girl gathers a group of children from her small town in Nebraska (the same town where the horrific events of the 1984 film took place) to have a death feast by killing all the unscrupulous adults. and everyone who tries to resist them. Luckily for the city, a high school student takes matters into her own hands in an attempt to stop the violence once and for all. The film will star Elena Kampouris ( Before I fall ), Kate Moyer ( Our house ), Callan Mulvey ( 300: Rise of an empire ) and Bruce Spence ( Crazy Max ).
Anvl Entertainment (the film company behind the reboot) released the first look of the film with creepy footage and a couple of behind-the-scenes moments. Take a look at the photos below:
Filmed in Australia during the pandemic, the film has eluded fans as they were swept away by numerous adaptations of King, which will be released this year . The film had a small theatrical release last year, but an official release date has yet to be confirmed. Although the first few films of the franchise were popular, the series has been constantly criticized, and the question often arises of how the original film got 9 sequels.
Given the collapse of the franchise and the fact that the prequel is getting little to no publicity, getting lost in the countless releases of 2021, it will be interesting to see what the movie will look like.
