Valorant: How the Economy Works - Kills, Rounds, Losses, etc.
Valorant players will rely on cash rewards to purchase weapons, shields, and abilities for their Agents, but how much will you earn for killing, landing, or disarming? YouTuber Jack 'Jackfrags' Mason has the answer!
Valorant, the highly anticipated tactical shooter from Riot Games, has been compared to Valve's CS:GO in many ways.
In addition to sharing flexible game mechanics, Valorant will use the cost-effective round-based system that has been a staple of the Counter-Strike game for years.
How much do you earn for killing and winning/losing a round in Valorant?
Of course, according to the reward-based model of Counter-Strike, some actions will net you more in your spend than others. But now we have a better idea of how it will turn out.
Due to gameplay breakdown jackfrags delved into the specifics of what players will earn, and therefore will be able to spend them in the menu shopping which is summarized below:
- Kill = 200 dollars.
- Round win = 3000 dollars.
- Round Loss = 1900 - 2900 dollars.
The YouTuber went on to explain how players are awarded a loss bonus in a similar fashion to CS:GO - with losing in the first round providing the smallest financial reward ($1900), while the maximum loss bonus is only $100 below the winning reward.
For all intents and purposes, this will work similarly to Counter-Strike's loss bonus to help bolster the losing team's economy and put them in a better position to overcome a losing streak.
However, unlike CS:GO, according to a YouTuber, Valorant will only provide players with $200 per kill. Essentially, this will place more emphasis on objective work to keep your team's economy going.
Another important piece of information that Mason shared relates to the choice of Agent, in which when you choose one character, you are stuck with him for the duration of the match.
Considering how important the Agent's abilities are in map segmentation and mission completion in Valorant, the perfect balance of offensive and support characters will be paramount to your team's success.
Of course, all this is subject to change, given that the information was obtained from the alpha version of the game. But given how important a well-oiled economic system is in Valorant, it would be a strange move for Riot to mess around with something that has been tried and tested.
