In the game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the passage is in search of the Child of Destiny. The White Wolf is expected to travel through war-scorched lands, salty waters and fight dangerous monsters. The passage of the beginning of the game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is preceded by an introductory video that tells about Geralt's beloved Yennefer, as well as training. The main storyline of the game begins with the search for a girl. To do this, the hero goes to the nearest village - the White Garden. Along the way, he will have to fight the ghouls, a silver sword will help him win.

It is a very powerful weapon, but, like most other signs, it has almost no effect on large creatures. Yrden can also interrupt the magical signature of portals.

During training, Ciri escapes behind the wall of the fortress. At that moment, a Wild Hunt airship with ghosts on board arrives, they kill the girl. This completes the training and sleep of the witcher.

Lilac and gooseberry

Right after finishing the tutorial quest "Kaer Morchen”, talking about Yennefer Vesemir and Geralt are attacked by ghouls, automatically, thereby unlocking this quest. After successfully slaughtering a small pack of monsters that do not exceed the level of the first, you get 200 experience points, crystal skull, and the task is updated. Geralt decides to follow the old witchers along the road in search of the lost sorceress.

After some time, the witchers stumbled upon an overturned cart, the horse of which became the prey of the griffin that attacked it. There is a short battle and the monster flies away, leaving the witchers bewildered. In the meantime, a merchant crawls out from under the cart, barely escaping thanks to the witchers. During a conversation with him, Geralt can get 50 crowns for saving him, and in addition, new information about the missing sorceress. More precisely, not about herself, but about the place where she could be. Thus, you go to a nearby small village called "White Garden" in order to find out about the fugitive in the local tavern.

Arriving at the place, the witchers immediately go to the indicated tavern, where, under the unfriendly glances of local peasants, they approach its owner, Elsa. From her we learn a little about what is happening around, but she cannot give information about Yen, since she has not seen anyone like her. However, she gives valuable advice to ask around the visitors of her establishment. Deciding to listen to her advice, Geralt begins to question the visitors.

The first is a peasant, we use the intoxicating magic of Aksy on him to untie his tongue. He doesn't know anything..

The second, a scientist, invites us to play the Gwent board game (the essence is simple as in blackjack - you need to score more cards than your opponent, but it all looks like a collectible card game). For the victory we get a card Golden Chivay.

The third is a tramp Gunther O'Dim. As it turned out, he had heard a lot about Geralt and Yennefer from Buttercup's ballads, and after the arrival of the witcher, he became convinced of who the sorceress was who broke into the local Nilfgaardian garrison and made a commotion there. Unfortunately, according to him, she has already left the camp, but Geralt has a new clue, he needs to go to the mentioned garrison.

At the exit from the tavern, we are met by local people. They want to beat us. Regardless of the choice, the fight will still take place. When choosing the first dialogue, we will also be deceived and we will still fight with everyone. If a sign to calm one of them, then we will fight with only two. But we can avoid this fight if we do not approach them, but immediately run away.
The merchant we saved from the griffin is now standing at the entrance to the village. You can buy a unique set from him Temerian armor (DLC only). Armor level 4, cost 676 crowns. Horse armor costs 595 crowns.

Once in place, at the entrance to the garrison, he is stopped by the guards, but as soon as he points out his occupation, he is let through without question, indicating the way to the local commander - Peter Saar Gwinlev. Having met the latter in the tower indicated by the guards, for information about the location of the sorceress, he asks Geralt to kill the griffin rampaging in the area. By agreeing, you can get the job "The Beast from the White Garden".

Beast from the White Garden

In the courtyard of the garrison, we can inspect the goods or create a new thing with a craftsman with glasses.

We ask for all the necessary information, find out where to find a local herbalist (for the production of a bait plant) and a hunter (he knows the place where the griffin attacked for the first time).

Hunter
We come to the marked house of the hunter, he is not in place. We activate our intuition, we notice traces in front of the house, we carefully examine them, only after that all other traces will appear. We follow the trail into the forest.
The Hunter of Myslov is stalking feral dogs, we can help him with this:

  1. We help to kill a pack of 5 dogs, we find the body of the person whom they gnawed.
    (+350 experience).
  2.  We refuse. We are waiting for the hunter.

After that, the hunter takes us to the place where the griffin tore several soldiers to pieces.

Griffin nest
We remain alone and study the place of the griffin attack. In the bodies of people you can find a couple of items. Instinctly we find traces, we find out where the soldiers came from. There are a couple of chests under the destroyed bridge.
Then we rise through the rock, with a run we jump over the abyss. At the top of the cliff we find a nest and a dead female griffin. Now it is clear why the remaining male griffin is so angry and attacks people.
We return to the destroyed bridge, from the road sign we quickly teleport closer to the herbalist.

herbalist
We communicate with the local herbalist Tamira. Now she is trying to cure a girl who was mutilated by monsters in the forest. She needs to stop the intracranial bleeding.
You can always buy ingredients from the herbalist or turn in your collected herbs. We ask about the necessary buckthorn grass-bait, we learn that it needs to be looked for in the center of the lake in the deepest place. The Witcher can try to help Lina, who is dying at the herbalist, thereby activating the task "On deathbed".

Extraction of grass
We go into the lake north of the village, swim, and then dive under the water. There are a lot of bushes of the necessary grass under water, you won’t have to look for a long time. In addition, at the bottom we can find several chests.

Now we head back to Vesemir for advice. Having told him everything that we know, Geralt, together with the old witcher, head to the fields to set a trap for the griffin. Once in place, Vesemir gives our witcher a crossbow, which will soon come in handy in a fight with a flying monster. The griffin, as expected, reacts to the bait, after which Geralt will have a rather troublesome battle with the griffin:

When the griffin flies by, we bounce to the side. Either we shoot down the bird with a crossbow shot, or after several visits it will land on its own. You need to be wary of the undercutting blows of the monster's wings, it is impossible to block them, and it is also not always possible to dodge. But the monster is dangerous only from the front side, from behind it is absolutely defenseless. In battle, we roll forward, find ourselves at the hind legs of the griffin, hit him from behind. While the monster is turning, we move after it, so as to always be behind, in which case, we roll again.
Having lost half of its health, the griffin will fly away from us towards the mill. We sit on a horse, we catch up with the monster. On the hill we continue the fight, we finish off the enemy to death. By defeating the griffin, the Witcher receives the valuable remains of the latter. It remains only to take his head to the Nilfgaardians.

With the head of a griffin, we return to the soldier's garrison for a reward. (If you do not move around the map, but ride a horse, then along the way we will get to the cemetery. There is an altar of power and one ghost. We use the silver sword, wait for the ghost to appear, and attack it. Having lost health, the ghost will hide in the crypt, we go down there and finish it off.After the victory, we approach the power stone, we get +1 additional skill point).

As a reward for killing the griffin, Geralt finally learns Yennefer's location. And also, as a result of the dialogue, limited in time, he can take or refuse the reward of 150 crowns. If he accepts, he will receive 300 experience points, and if he refuses, he will receive 400 experience points.

Note

  • If Geralt refuses the reward, then he receives 30% more experience for completing the task.
  • The task is recommended to pass the witcher from the 3rd level.
  • After killing the griffin in the White Garden, the stuffed sheep will stand in the field in the same place.

Road to Vizima
We return to the tavern to Vesemir. But even here the witchers have problems again. A fight breaks out in the tavern, Elsa is maimed, and they have no choice but to massacre there, immediately after which the witchers are shown the way out. Immediately at the exit, a surprise awaits them again, and this time from their mutual friend, Yennefer. Suddenly appearing, accompanied by the Nilfgaardian militia, she informs him that Emhyr var Emreis, Emperor of Nilfgaard, is waiting for him in Vizima. Vesemir says goodbye to us and heads back to Kaer Morhen. Thus, intrigued by the message, Geralt and the sorceress shrouded in secrets are sent to Vizima, the former capital of the now captured Temeria.

Diary entry 

After years of separation, Yennefer still responded to Geralt's call. She sent him a letter, smelling, of course, of lilacs and gooseberries. In it, she asked Geralt to meet in Verbitsy - a village near Vizima - on a matter of extreme importance. The witcher flew headlong to the appointed place, but was still too late: the troops simply wiped the village off the face of the earth, and Yennefer drove away. With the help of Vesemir, Geralt managed to find the trail of the sorceress, along which the two witchers decided to go further. Yennefer rode north in great haste, hurtling straight across the countryside and through the battlefields. She was in a hurry. Maybe she was in danger...In the end, it was Yennefer who found Geralt. The old lovers did not have a moment to enjoy the meeting: Yennefer demanded to go to Vizima as soon as possible, where the emperor of Nilfgaard himself was waiting for the witcher.

After talking with the chamberlain, Geralt is given three outfits to choose from, in one of which he will have to face the emperor. Immediately upon arrival, Geralt is faced with a time-limited choice: to bow or not. Not much will change depending on the choice, only a few lines in the dialog. Emhyr offers him to find Ciri, for a good payment, of course. To help, he offers his intelligence and, if necessary, the army. However, he does not answer Geralt's questions to him, referring to Yennefer. Having finished the dialogue with him, we follow the chamberlain and go to the sorceress.

When meeting with Yennefer, the sorceress reports her failed search with the help of magic and asks us to help with the search for Ciri. Geralt cannot refuse her, and she, in turn, tells about intelligence reports. There are only two leads, and both lead to different places: Velen и Novigrad. In the first case, the road leads to the tavern "At the crossroads", and in the second to the house Triss Merigold. Leaving him with this information, she goes to Kaer Trolde, located on the islands Skellige. Now it remains to grab your equipment from the chamberlain outside the door and hit the road.

We can see the whole castle. Ambassador var Attre tells the political situation in the world. We go out into the garden, here we see one gwent player. While it is useless to play with him, we have a weak deck, but later we will need to return to him.

There was no time for long greetings, as the sorceress insisted on a hasty departure. Geralt and Yennefer left the White Garden in the company of the Nilfgaardians, but only the witcher and the sorceress reached Vizima. On the way, the travelers were attacked by the Wild Hunt, a cavalcade of ghostly riders whom the common people consider the harbingers of war. Geralt's questions only multiplied. What did Yennefer get herself into again? How did the Hunt find them? Why were you chasing them? Why was he called to Vizima? Only one person could give him answers - Emperor of Nilfgaard Emhyr var Emreis, the White Flame Dancing on the Mounds of Enemies. The most powerful man in the world. The conversation with the emperor was brief but meaningful. The daughter of the emperor, and once - a student and girlfriend of the witcher, Ciri, returned from ... very far away. She was in mortal danger, for the Wild Hunt was on her trail. Emhyr knew that he had to get to his daughter, whom he had not seen for so long, before the ghosts overtook her. First, he tried to find her with the help of Yennefer. It turned out, however, that her localizing spells attracted the attention of the Wild Hunt. So it became clear that Ciri would have to be searched without the help of magic, using generally accepted methods. And few people were better at reading footprints than my old friend Geralt of Rivia. Emhyr promised him mountains of gold in exchange for help, but I know that the witcher took up the job not at all out of mercenary considerations. Ciri was the most dear to him
