League of Legends has introduced the skills of a new champion, the fallen King Viego. After months of teasers, he becomes the 154th MOBA Champion. Here's everything we know about Viego, including his powers and release date.

A lot of time has passed and the Fallen King has finally arrived in League of Legends. In anticipation of a separate Ruined King game, Viego himself should arrive in Runeterra shortly.

Riot's 2021 season livestream has revealed many new details about the Viego, as well as incredible videos. Without further ado, here's what we know about Viego, the Fallen King.

Who is Viego in League of Legends?

Viego joins the League of Legends roster as the 154th MOBA Champion. The addition of a champion came as no surprise to us: Riot mentions the Fallen King back in September 2020 on their champion roadmaps.

Viego has been described as a champion duelist jungler, and "you might just fall in love with... twisted hearts and possessing minds."

Riot unveiled an absolutely incredible new video featuring Viego live on the opening day of the 2021 season.

The video also featured Senna, Lucian, Darius and a host of other League champions. It's fair to say that Viego took center stage, and Riot captured his dark and ghostly theme perfectly.

Viego's abilities

Right of the strong (passive skill)

Viego can temporarily possess enemy champions that he helps kill. At the same time, he restores his health depending on the maximum health of the enemy. As long as the target is under Viego's control, he gains their items, basic attacks, and basic skills, and can use his ultimate, Heartbreak, for free. In addition, during the duration of the effect, Viego gains speed when moving towards enemy champions.

Blade of the Fallen King [Q]

Passively: Viego's auto attacks deal bonus damage on hit based on the target's current health. When Viego attacks an enemy he recently hit with a skill, he performs two hits. The second hit does not deal base damage, but drains health from the target and inflicts on-hit effects, and can also be a critical hit. The passive effect also works while possessing an enemy.
The Coordinating Staff of Volyn Regional Football Association has actively: Viego pierces enemies in front of him with his blade, dealing damage.

Viego spreads a black mist around the nearest wall. While the Fallen King is in the fog, he is cloaked and his attack and movement speeds are increased.

Viego destroys the bodies he possesses and teleports forward, attacking the enemy champion with the lowest health percentage and also dealing additional damage based on his missing health. Other enemies in the area of effect are knocked back.

Viego release date in League of Legends

The champion is expected to appear in league patch 11.2 which will be released January 21 2021 years . Viego must be launched on the day of the update or a few days after it.

It's worth noting that Riot have announced that the next three champions introduced to the League in 2021 will be tied to the return of Viego, the Fallen King. It's hard to predict who these champions are at this point, but no doubt Riot will release some teasers in the coming months.

Either way, it will be interesting to see how Viego grows in the current meta and whether he can become a top tier jungler.

Viego's biography

Now few people remember about the distant kingdom in the east, across the sea. Only the name and coastal ruins remained of it. Even fewer are left who know the story of the young madcap ruler whose ardent passion ruined this country.

Today he has become a nameless threat to all living things, but once his name was Viego.

He was the youngest son of the king and should not have inherited the throne. Surrounded by luxury, Viego grew up spoiled and selfish. When his older brother died unexpectedly, Viego was hastily crowned, although he had neither the desire nor the ability to govern.

One day, Viego saw a simple seamstress at court named Isolde. He was so captivated by her beauty that he offered her his hand and heart. So one of the most powerful rulers of his time married a girl from a poor family.

Viego, who until now had loved no one but himself, now dedicated his life to Isolde. They became inseparable. Viego almost never appeared without his queen, showered her with gifts and could not think of anything else when she was around. This love story would be touching if Viego did not have to rule the state.

His allies were outraged. Due to the inaction of the ruler, the kingdom began to burst at the seams. There were those who secretly wished to put an end to the barely begun reign of such a helpless monarch. The enemies of the kingdom also did not doze off and decided to strike. Like cunning snakes, they were waiting for the right moment.

And then one day an assassin with a poisoned dagger entered the palace of Viego. The guards managed to protect their king ... but the blade touched Iseult.

The poison immediately penetrated into the blood. Isolde collapsed dead and never regained consciousness, and Viego could only watch helplessly as his beloved melted before his eyes. Beside himself with anger and despair, he emptied the treasury in an attempt to find an antidote.

But all was in vain. Isolde died in her bed, and Viego went mad with grief.

Obsessed with the idea that his spouse can be brought back to life, he squandered all the treasures of the kingdom, depleted all the resources in an attempt to do so. His possessions fell into decay, and the king himself locked himself in the chambers with the body of Iseult. He became angry and cruel.

In the end, he learned about the existence of the Blessed Isles, where there was a source of living water that heals any ailments. At the head of a huge army, Viego invaded this peaceful state, killing everyone who tried to get in his way. Having made his way to the innermost sanctuary, he lowered the deceased wife into the blessed water. He intended to bring Isolde back to life at any cost. And just for a moment she was resurrected.

Isolde was reborn in the guise of a terrible ghost woven from the dusk. She did not understand why she was pulled out of the afterlife and, tormented by anger and pain, she snatched the enchanted blade from Viego and plunged it right into his heart. The magic of the blessed water and the ancient sword reacted, the power contained in the sanctuary burst out and swept through the Isles like a hurricane. Everyone who was touched by this terrible magical energy died and turned into a ghost doomed to eternal torment.

But Viego himself had no recollection of this. His kingdom is gone. Other great powers were born and died, and the name of the mad king was forgotten over time ... but a thousand years later, Viego rose again. And this time he will certainly achieve his goal.

Possessed by the same sick passion as in life, Viego is ready to go to any atrocities in the name of his eternal crazy love. A deadly black mist oozes from his broken heart, draining life from everything it touches. Viego hopes that thanks to the fog he will be able to find a way to return his beloved.

Legions will die in the mist to rise in the service of the Fallen King. Entire continents will disappear under the cover of living darkness. The whole world will pay for every moment of happiness stolen from an ancient ruler who fell victim to all-consuming love. Viego is ready to destroy everything in his path, just to look into the face of Isolde again.

His reign is terrible.

His love is eternal.

The fallen king will bring death to all living things until he regains Iseult.
