Time Mission Disaster - Tasks, Walkthrough, Rewards

fortnite screensaver-img

Our Guide will walk you through a list of tasks for the time-limited Disaster mission that you will need to complete in order to earn exclusive rewards.

Day-to-day challenges are a thing of the past and these weekly Mission Alerts have replaced them! If you complete at least three of these tasks, you will receive a loading screen that contains the key to the secret battle star. Completing all challenges earns you a lot of Seasonal XP, as well as stars towards your Season 10 Battle Pass.

With these weekly missions, you must complete them within the week they are valid, because once the time is up, they will be gone forever! This mission will go live on August 29, 2019 and will be unavailable on September 5, 2019.

CATASTROPHE MISSION TEST LIST

A new challenge is unlocked once a day, but we have a full list of them due to leaks. They are subject to change as soon as they become effective!

  • Deal damage with pickaxes to enemies (100)
  • Eliminate an enemy from at least 50 meters (3)
  • Use trap slot elements in different matches (3)
  • Place Top 5 in duets or squads (1)
  • Deal damage to enemies from above (500)
  • Visit Faraway Lodge and Lazy Lagoon in the same match (2)
  • Search Chests in Shaky Mines or Gloomy Hills (7)

Awards

The rewards are not specific to any challenge, you are given one each time you complete an additional challenge.

  1. 10x Battle Stars
  2. 500 Season XP
  3. New loading screen!
  4. 10x Battle Stars
  5. 1,000 Season XP
  6. 10x Battle Stars
  7. 2,000 Season XP

On the loading screen, you get the hidden location of the Star, so check out this guide for more information!

CATASTROPHE MISSION GUIDE

The objectives are fairly easy to complete, and you can always do them in Team Rumble if you feel like they might be difficult. You can also use Party Assist with any of these challenges, which should help you complete the toughest ones.

Deal damage to enemies with pickaxes (100)

You can do this in several different ways. You can just land right on top of someone else and start hacking at them with your pickaxe. If you start doing this early, they won't be able to react fast enough to protect themselves. This is especially true if they don't find the weapon right away. Another way to do this in team play is to have someone knock the enemy down and you finish them off with a pickaxe.

Eliminate an enemy from at least 50 meters (3)

You can use a sniper rifle, assault rifle, or even a combat shotgun for this (probably not the last one). It's very easy if you do it in Team Rumble.

Use trap slot elements in different matches (3)

Any item that falls into your trap slot can be used to complete this task. Currently, these items are damage traps, launch pads, and a cozy campfire. If you get one of these, you can just slap it to the ground before you get eliminated!

Place Top 5 in duets or squads (1)

It can be a bit tricky if you are not that good at the game. You might consider going solo in a duo or team and just try to stealthily get to the Top 5. Another option is to have someone better than you around who will take you to the high finish line. The key to success is to just play save, so stay out of the way of the battle bus and try to stay out of the fight.

Deal damage to enemies from above (500)

Hold the height and damage your enemies! Very easy to do in Team Rumble, you can land on high ground and just shoot people.

Visit Faraway Lodge and Lazy Lagoon in the same match (2)

It's not really that hard, I'd land at Faraway Lodge and look for a zipline that goes up the western mountain where the Expedition Outpost is. Here you can find a surfboard.

Take it and go to Lazy Lagoon. If there is no Drift Board, you can use the other ziplines to the north and then head east. Take another zipline north again and you should come to another Outpost with an extra chance of finding a board. If you're unlucky there, well, that's sad... You can still ride the ropes to the northwest and cross over to Lazy Lagoon. If you're heading west from the Sunny Steps, there are a few more drift spots near the outposts.

Find chests in the Wobbly Mines or Gloomy Hills (7)

Gloomy Hills is probably less popular, but neither area is a hotspot for activity. I would just do it in Team Rumble, chest spawn rates are much higher there and pretty much guaranteed. You also don't have to fight for chests and sometimes you'll get them all.

LOADING SCREEN AND HIDDEN BATTLE STAR

The coordinates are E 7/8 and F 7/8, which can be found on the northwestern mountain of the Banefields.

You will find the star on a small dirt patch in the northern part of the map.
