All Archaea in Rainbow Six Extraction: Abilities, Winning Strategies
In Rainbow Six Extraction, there are several different archetypes of Archaean enemies that you will encounter. They have different abilities and weaknesses, so use our strategies to take them out with ease and complete the mission.
From the Archean Underlevel to the Proteus, every Archean enemy in Rainbow six extraction is different. You'll need an extensive array of tactics and strategies to take them down, but it can get confusing when a horde of monsters is running at you.
Spend your time learning about the threat that the game has in store for you in the form of a variety of enemies, so you know what each of them does and how to deal with them, so that you have the perfect tactic to clear the levels of infection.
All Archaea Rainbow Six Evacuation
There are many ways to destroy archaea in Rainbow Six Extraction, but some are more effective than others.
Leader
Starting the roster with a very powerful enemy in Rainbow Six Extraction, the Leader lives up to its name as a high threat predator. You can't get too close to it as it will cause a shockwave.
He will call on other archaeans to fight by his side, so be sure to take out his allies before targeting the Warlord when the monster is unmasked. Use explosives on him, as regular bullets do not deal significant damage and take off the Leader's XP extremely slowly.
Споры
Disputes are not so much enemies as irritants. The nest can be found in places all over the map. When they attach to you, it reduces your vision until you become completely blind.
To get rid of them, find an ally to approach and fight them to knock them down with a couple of shots.
Bubble
Archaea with a toxic gas bag on his back, you can't let him get too close. As soon as it is spotted, it will lunge at you, so be sure to raise your weapon and fire quickly at the bag on your back to disperse the toxic gas at a safe distance from your teammates.
Demomen
Similar to Bubble, the Demoman will attack you head-on, but this time the bag on their back carries explosives rather than toxic gas. Once again, you need to eliminate him from a distance by shooting the bag.
However, the Demoman can also deal damage to other Archaea, so if you see a large group of enemies, shoot the bag for a lot of damage for everyone.
Demomen (pictured) and Bubbles share the same weak spot with a liquid bag on their back.
aphid
The Aphid is the Swamp Standard Archaea in Rainbow Six Extraction. There is nothing special about him - he quickly runs at you after being detected, but is also incredibly weak. Just shoot him in the head (that is, where his weak point is) and move on.
Oppequin
The guardian is an archaean of support. While not strong on its own, it empowers other Archaea by making them invisible, meaning you'll need to use abilities like Pulse's heart scanner to see them.
However, even without gadgets, you can usually see the Guardian's blurry forms as undulating lifeforms in your line of sight.
Proteus
The main Archean enemy in Rainbow Six Extraction, you will only encounter Proteas at a location known as the Singularity during the quest "The transition«.
Proteas are a mobile Archaean species that take on the appearance of REACT operatives and are able to mimic their behavior to a certain extent. It is important to follow interaction protocols and be extremely careful in the presence of Proteus. Each Proteus is different, so you will have to change the angle of attack depending on who you are facing.
Different Protheans, like the guy in the image above imitating Smoke, have different abilities.
Spike
The spike will attempt to slow you down with a sticky substance fired at you, your teammates, and the entire general area. If you get hit, you will be immobilized and take damage. However, they are rather weak and a couple of bullets should do the trick.
Plaque
Not to be confused with Sprawl, Sludge is a glowing slime that separates when you shoot it. Walk on the slime (or under it, it can fall from the ceiling) and it will damage you. Just keep doing it until it's gone and then move on.
Ram
The ramming hippopotamus is an archaean, and you will probably hear its footsteps before you see it. It's basically a tank, completely covered in armor - except for a weak spot on the back.
Use this knowledge to your advantage and use it in pairs, one teammate as bait, the other shoots from behind. Alternatively, lure them into charging and shoot them while they recover on the ground.
Deploying cover can help against archaeans like Taran.
Sower
The sower is another supportive archaea. Instead of dealing damage with his fists (although he does if you get close), the Sower plants mines all over the map that, when detonated, will blind anyone in his radius. He also has armor on his head, so be sure to attack him from behind or use explosives.
The splinter
One of the most powerful Archaea in Rainbow Six Extraction, you will need to find some sort of cover to protect yourself from Splinter. He sets himself up as a sentry before unleashing a plethora of spikes that deal decent damage. He will also keep his other hand in defense, so wait for the splinters to rain and then headshot him.
ismor
When playing Sprawl, Izmor can disappear seemingly into thin air (or thick mud) and can be difficult to track down. They also deal a ton of damage with their ranged attacks. You can't shoot them in the Sprawl, so once they pop up aim for the head.
That's all you need to know about the various archaean enemies in Rainbow Six Extraction, their abilities, and general strategies for taking them down.
