All additional characters in Fire Emblem Engage and how to recruit them
As the story progresses Fire Emblem Engagement you will be able to recruit an extensive line-up of units that will help you in battle.
While most of the main characters in JRPGs are auto-recruited simply by playing the story and working their way through the narrative, some additional units require special conditions to be recruited.
Having extra units on your roster is one of the best ways to make your team more versatile, ultimately easing some of the toughest encounters in the game.
While you may encounter these optional recruits over the course of the story, you unfortunately won't be able to recruit them right away. You will either have to wait a while or fulfill certain special conditions to add them to your lineup.
This guide covers all of the additional characters you can recruit in Fire Emblem Engage and how you can acquire them.
A set of additional units in Fire Emblem Engage
To recruit additional units in Fire Emblem Engage, you will need to select Alear during the player phase and then place them with the character you want to recruit.
During your turn, you can use the "Talk" option to start a dialogue with the character and begin the recruiting process.
Once everything is over, you can recruit a character to your party. However, remember that this set of additional characters will only work in certain chapters of the game. If you miss the window, you won't be able to recruit them again for the rest of the Fire Emblem Engage narrative.
Here is a list of all the extra units in the game and how you can get them:
Jean
- You can recruit Genie by talking to him with Alear during the Paralogue mission "Budding Talent".
Anna
- You can recruit Anna for another paralog mission called "Mystery Trader".
- You will need to talk to her using Alear.
Nephritis
- Jade is one of the hardest units to recruit in Fire Emblem Engage, this is because you won't be able to use Alear to recruit her. During Chapter 9 "Clash of Forces", you will need to use the Diamond and talk to her in order to add her to your party. You won't be able to recruit her in any other way.
Sydall
- Recruiting Sydall is easy and you can add him to your party by talking to him with Alear. You will have to start a negotiation dialogue with him during Chapter 15 "Dancer in the Ruins".
Sapphire
- To recruit Safir, you must use Alir and talk to her in Chapter 19, Dead City.
Additional units can only be recruited during these specific chapters in Fire Emblem Engage. Therefore, if you don't add them to your party, you won't be able to do so later in the game.
