All Champion Changes and Synergies of Teamfight Tactics Patch 9.16!
We're reviewing all the champion and synergy class changes coming to Teamfight Tactics with the release of Patch 9.16!
Our guide to Teamfight Tactics Champions fully considers every available unit in the game. We're also looking at classes and origins, and what each synergy does when it's stacked together! Combining the right units together gives a buff to your team and makes you hard to beat.
Each unit has a class and an origin, and currently units can have up to three designations. Each class and lineage has a specific buff it will give to your team if the number of units adds up to the desired amount. Each class and origin is different, so the amount you need to trigger the buff will be different. Keep in mind that only unique champions will count towards the buff amount, so you can't have multiple of the same units on the board to add to the total!
Champion Updates
- 14 / 08 / 19: Some origin/class changes and the addition of Hextech origins are brought into the game with patch 9.16
- 31 / 07 / 19: Patch 9.15 brought many big changes to many classes and origins.
- 24 / 07 / 19: Patch 9.14 b brought nerfs to the Assassin and Elementalist, as well as polished the Sorcerer and the Wild
TEAMFIGHT TACTICS BETTING AND CHAMPION LEVELS
The stakes at which you see Champion levels depend on what level you are at! If you are at the start of the game and are at level 2, you will only see level 1 Champions. As you level up further, you will start to see higher tiered champions. However, these percentages vary quite a lot. You will very rarely see tier 5 champions and this will include all the way up to tier 9.
The championship pool is shared by all other players. You will only see a certain amount of each champion per game, you can see all those numbers in the image above. That's why scouting is important, you don't want to over invest in certain champions if other players are trying to use them too!

LIST OF CHAMPIONS
This part of the post reminds you of what champions are in the game and what level they are!
NEW HEXTTEXT CHAMPIONS
Hextech Champions have been added to the game.
Hextech Champions are heroes capable of disrupting the plans of heavily armed enemies. At the beginning of the fight, they drop a bomb that disables the items of nearby enemies for a while. This bonus starts when you field two Hextech Champions, and gets stronger when there are more four.
- 2: 1 HEX radius
- 4: 2 HEX radius
- Camilla

Update 9.16 Changes
The Dragon Oracle Udyr will be available in the game on August 15, 2019.
Champions
Pantheon
Unbreakable Spear
With the release of update 9.16, the Pantheon will rain down on enemies like a meteor, destroying their formation and wreaking havoc.
Updated full-size images of the Pantheon are available in League of Legends Screensavers!
Dr. Mundo
The durability of Devouring Agony [W] is now the same at all skill levels. The cooldown of Masochism [E] now depends on the level of the skill.
Four updates we fed the madman with small changes, and now it's time for more serious changes.
Devouring Agony [W]
Masochism [E]
Eco
The additional damage of Phase Blast [E] has been increased. Recharge time of Time Control [R] has been reduced at high skill levels.
Ekko will benefit from additional strength in all areas of the game.
Phase jump [E]
Time Management [R]
Ezreal
Arcane Shot [Q] damage ratio from ability power has been reduced. The cooldown of Magic Shift [E] has been increased.
Ezreal's ability power burst damage has made him a real boon for the league, so we're nerfing this build and lowering Ez's early game security.
Arcane Shot [Q]
Magic shift [E]
Kassadin
Void Blade's auto attack damage modifier W has been increased.
We're buffing the traits of Kassadin that help him deter some of the short-range mid laners - especially the ones he should be strong against anyway (AP Assassins).
Void Blade [W]
Luxury
Shield durability of Prismatic Barrier [W] is increased at high skill levels.
When Lux's shield was nerfed in Patch 9.14, we were primarily targeting builds where players were abusing its security. However, as a result, the Support Suite suffered much more than we expected. We're restoring some of her shield's durability so she can effectively defend her lane partner again.
Prismatic Barrier [W]
Nocturne
Base armor increased. The additional attack speed of Shroud of Darkness [W] has been increased.
The nocturne is rather weak compared to other junglers, so we amplify it.
Main factors
Rounding up some numbers!
Shroud of Darkness [W]
Riven
The cooldown of Broken Wings [Q] is now the same at all skill levels.
We are reverting changes to [Q] Riven from update 9.10, after which the cooldown of the skill began to depend on its level. The increase in [E] cooldown in the same update did not compensate for the increase in [Q] at high levels of the solo queue, and we did not intend to make Riven stronger.
Broken Wings [Q]
Sejujuan
The base armor and magic resistance of Frost Armor have been reduced, and the coefficients have been increased. Arctic Advance [Q] cooldown increased.
Despite recent easing, Sejuani is still very popular in professional games. Therefore, this time we deal a more serious blow to it.
Fury of the North (Passive)
Arctic Offensive [Q]
Shen
The damage ratio of the empowered Twilight Attack [Q] has been increased. Shadow Rush E base damage increased.
Shen can use strength in split-pushing in the mid and late stages of the game.
Twilight Attack [Q]
Shadow Rush [E]
Sinched
Base mana increased. Insanity Potion's additional stats [R] are increased at high skill levels.
Buffing Singed so that the R Madness Potion will give him more wins if he manages to survive until the late game.
Main factors
Rounding up some numbers!
Potion of Madness [R]
Zion
Base mana increased. Devastating Strike [Q] base minimum and maximum damage increased; Damage reduction against monsters has been removed.
We're fine-tuning Sion, like rounding up base stats and removing mechanics that don't seem to be needed anymore. In general, he will have more chances in fights with opponents in the top lane, especially if his opponent is the same warrior.
Main factors
Rounding up some numbers!
Devastating Strike [Q]
Sivir
Ricochet's [W] damage ratio from attack power is reduced at low levels of the skill.
Sivir is strong. In conjunction with Yumi, she is INCREDIBLY strong. We're nerfing the cat (if you haven't gotten to her section yet, sorry for the spoiler), but we think the nerfs would be good for Sivir as well. In particular, we want to reduce her clear speed in the early game and allow enemies to outrun her.
Ricochet [W]
Silas
The damage reduction from the second proc of Q Chainstrike now applies to both minions and monsters.
After a recent set of changes, Silas has become too comfortable in the forest. To fix this, we're lowering his clear speed a bit.
Chain Strike [Q]
Steal Power [R]
Sindra
Dark Orb [Q] bonus damage against champions has been increased. The base damage of Turn the Weak [E] has been increased.
Syndra is currently weak at all levels of the game, so we are increasing her overall strength.
Dark Orb [Q]
Casting out the weak [E]
Tahm Kench
Base movement speed reduced. Duration of Durable Hide [E] shield reduced.
Making Tahm Kench more vulnerable to ambushes, because he provides too much protection for already tenacious comrades (like Ezreal).
Main factors
Durable Hide [E]
Yumi
The damage of enhanced Cat and Mouse [Q] is reduced at high skill levels; slowdown reduced; the duration of the slow is now the same at all skill levels; cooldown increased at low skill levels.
Given Yumi's reliability, her damage output is way too high, especially when paired with an equally strong bot lane.
Cat and Mouse [Q]
Ziggs
Explosive Pack [W] damage from ability power increased; cooldown reduced at low skill levels. The reload time of Scary Big Bomb [R] is reduced at high skill levels.
Ziggs isn't really shining right now, so we're buffing one of his less-than-useful tools and allowing him to use his ult more often.
Explosive Pack [W]
Scary Big Bomb [R]
Runes
Delivery of cookies
The total number of cookies has been reduced; spawn intervals changed. Health and mana regeneration per cookie has been reduced. The duration of treatment is reduced. The permanent mana per cookie has been increased.
These cookies are overly nutritious and provide too much survivability while laning. Most of the changes below are specific to the rune, but those related to the cookies themselves affect the baking that Kleptomancy sometimes gives.
ARAM Balance Changes
Weaknesses in Patch 9.16
Buffs in Update 9.16
Honor 5 Rewards
With Update 9.16, new Honor 5 color schemes are coming to the game!
Ranked Games
Demotion from Challenger and Grandmaster at 0 LP now follows the rules for Master. This is actually a borderline case, because if you lose LP for several days or weeks, the player is demoted to the rank of master, before he has time to go down to 0 LP. However, on small servers, these changes will help to cope with situations where it was almost impossible to drop out of the challenger rank.
Error correction
- Gnar can no longer change direction Jump [E] after transforming with a skill GNA-A-A-R! [R], but before bouncing off the minion.
- Allies affected by Order: Protect [E] Orianna now sees a range indicator around her.
- When applied Otherworldly Grip [R] Malzahara now has a reveal indicator above the target (even if the enemy is invisible).
- Auto Attacks, Supported Clean Cuts (Passive) Shai, now properly leave feathers behind her enemy, and not near herself.
- Master Yi's basic attack, applied immediately after First strike [Q], now properly grants an additional charge of Conqueror or Electrocute.
- Bleeding (passive skill) Darius no longer shows an indicator in the distance.
- If Katarina drops her dagger near a wall and then casts Shunpo [E]to move over a wall, the skill's cooldown normally resets.
- Wrath of the Titan [W] Nautilus now properly triggers Electrocute instead of just granting one charge during the duration.
- Lee Sin's hitbox no longer shifts on cast Resonating Strike [Q].
- Twitch can no longer apply Ambush [Q] cost no mana for 3 seconds after resetting the cooldown of a skill when an enemy champion dies from Deadly Poison (Passive).
- If you have multiple stackable consumable items in your inventory, selling one item will no longer sell the other item.
- Determination [W] Karma now properly reduces cooldown Mantras [R] when dealing damage to enemy champions.
- Phase Rush and Electrocute now properly trigger when Poppy casts Heroic Charge [E] in certain combinations.
Localization
Fixes in upcoming updates
- We are aware of an issue with certain interaction lines between Shaya and Rakan. For technical reasons, it will be fixed in the next update - 9.17.
