All Valorant Map Changes Update 1.02
The second official patch for Valorant has been released, bringing a ton of new changes to all four maps of Split, Ascent, Bind and Haven. Here is the full list of what players will encounter.
Riot has been working to balance gunplay in their tactical shooter, closely tied to the many ways people use their Agent Spheres abilities to clear corners, choke paths and the like.
But the studio wants to make the tight corners of its arenas "a little more straight" so people can hold on securely when defending, or kill while attacking, and has introduced new elements to ease the burden.
Changed areas on all maps, where the probability of spotting an enemy when exiting a corner is 50%
Bind
The map changes aren't as massive as the others, but Riot fixed two locations that gamers preferred.
New elements in front of the entrance to the Bathroom near the Sphere now have rugs in the corner to prevent people from walking, as well as a newly curved wall outside the hookah teleporter, which should make it easier to observe opponents.
Port
Content creators like the YouTube channel "Click Heads" have looked at all the changes on the maps, highlighting some of the biggest updates seen across the board.
Zones with dangerous corners on the map Port:
- ♦ garage doors;
- ♦ entrance to long C from the side of attackers;
- ♦ Covers on court A have been rearranged so that players have a wider view and more options for movement;
- ♦pass to C;
- ♦entrance to the channel on A;
- ♦pass to A;
- ♦lower part of the channel on A.
Ascent
The same can be said for Ascent, the newest map in the game. Objects have been stacked near the Defender's spawn to make it a little harder for attackers to move around.
The Garden link now has a range of objects that prevent people from crouching and remaining relatively hidden.
- ♦ entrance to the garden;
- ♦ entrance to the base of the defenders;
- ♦The side of the attackers at the exit to A (including a boost that allows the attackers to look into the area of the exit to A).
Split
There is a huge metal beam next to the Defender's spawn that prevents people from camping during the rescue round or protection from rotation.
This is the only change made to Split since the previous patch made a huge reconfiguration of how the middle part of the map looked.
These changes are small, but in some cases Valorant players will find it harder to set up camp and take advantage of the cheeky corner.
