All about CoD Mobile season 9 update: Krig-6 AR, Ice Drake Mythic, Zombies and more.

9 season CoD Mobile: Nightmare is around the corner, and as the title suggests, the classic zombie experience is back on handheld devices. In addition, new weapons and cosmetics will complete the seasonal patch.

As Season 8: Train to nowhere starts to wind down, CoD Mobile fans quickly turn their attention to the next content drop. Following on from early leaks and teasers, the developers have now made Season 9 official by revealing the title. "Nightmare" and what comes with it.

From yet another Cold War Black Ops weapon to the inevitable return of round-based zombies, there's a lot of things ahead of us.

CoD Mobile Season 9 update release date

As mentioned in the Season 8 Battle Pass, CoD Mobile Season 9 kicks off Wednesday, October 12th at 3:00 UTC. No different than usual, new content will be available worldwide immediately, and players will instantly have access to the new season.

This marks a full five weeks since the previous season went into effect, in line with the usual cadence of new seasons in CoD Mobile.

CoD Mobile Season 9 Update Description

The undead are walking again. In Celebration of Halloween, Zombies Are Back Season Nine Call of Duty: Mobile, sees zombies return with not one, but two modes: Zombies Classic on the Shi No Numa map and Super Attack of the Undead. Face the ghosts on the new Haunted Hacienda multiplayer map, blast enemies remotely with the new C4 throwable, and trade treats for rewards to satisfy Naga's insatiable hunger, the Ghost of War.

Season 9 brings a brand new Battle Pass including free and premium items such as new operators, new functional weapons, a new throwable lethal, weapon blueprints, calling cards, amulets, Call of Duty Points (CP) and more.

Free Battle Pass Tiers

This season's free Battle Pass includes the classic remote-detonated C4 unlocked at level 14, followed by the new Krig 6 assault rifle at level 21. Other free rewards this season include various camouflages, weapon blueprints, and calling card - Misty Seas .

Premium Pass Tiers

Purchase the Battle Pass for the chance to earn all the content available in the Zombies Are Back stream, including new operator skins such as Kui Ji - Sapporo Stealth, Domino - Carbon Smoke, Zero - Dark Sails and Merc 5 - Sea Monster. Other Battle Pass premium rewards include weapon blueprints for the ICR-1, SKS, GKS, Chopper, and the new Krig 6.

Return of the zombies!

What is Halloween without the roaming undead? This season we're bringing back zombies with two modes:

Zombie Classic: Brave Shi No Numa aka Death Swamp as you and your squad try to survive the rounds while facing an onslaught of the undead everywhere. Get your privileges and get into this Mystery Box; you will need all the help you can get.

Super Undead Attack: Deploy as a full group of survivors until one is randomly selected at the start of a match to join the undead. In this new iteration of the mode, the match continues until the last human or zombie appears. Both infected and survivors gain new abilities as the match progresses. Do you have what it takes to reach the end?

New Multiplayer Map: Haunted Hacienda

Halloween arrives at the opulent vineyard estate as Hacienda gets a makeover for the holiday, including a ghostly set of ships anchored just off the lakeshore. Go into battle in the mansion - watch out for this central courtyard - or fight on the estate grounds when evening falls. Keep your head straight in the upcoming matches or risk falling prey to the horror of a new ghost.

New themed event: Haunted Journey

Indulge your sweet tooth and get rewarded for it in the Haunted Voyage themed event. Play matches and complete daily and weekly challenges in multiplayer and battle royale to earn Halloween coins that can be used to win Halloween candy. Different candies provide different amounts of points, giving you access to rewards such as Parachute - Sapphire Skulls, HS0405 - Electric Eel, Rytec AMR - Blue Skeletons, and Battle Hardened - Neon Fire Operator Skin.

Players who top the event leaderboard will receive additional rewards, so complete these challenges and start accumulating those treats.

New Seasonal Challenges

Season 9 brings new seasonal challenges offering rewards such as new weapon blueprints, operator skins, and up to 30 XP battle passes. Check back throughout the season for more details, including a challenge that unlocks the new Underbarrel Stun Gun app for the Pharo SMG when completed.

Shop Update: Mythic Assault Rifle, Terrifying Operator Skins

Check back in the in-game store throughout the season to get your hands on new weapon blueprints and operator skins that are sure to make your enemies' skin crawl. Leading the pack is the new Cold Embrace Mythic Draw, featuring the Krig 6 - Ice Drake Mythic-rarity Assault Rifle alongside the legendary Dark Shepherd - Arctic Death Skin.

Other legendary draws include terrifying pairings such as Type 25 - Hell's Horse and Naga - Ghost of War; The Thumper - Surprise Party and Gunzo - Devil Jester. Become a seaside haven with Swordfish - Water Assassin and Jackal - Water Reaper or Faron - Submarine-008 and Manta Ray - Bulletproof Diver.
