The choice of a spell is made before the match in the champion select menu. Each player can only choose two summoner spells per game from the list provided, and these can only be replaced later with the Revealed Spellbook rune.

Summoner spells do not cost resources, but have a long cooldown, which forces the player to carefully consider the consequences of using the spell in the here and now.
Role in the game
Summoner spells are unrelated to the champion and are meant to highlight their strengths or compensate for their weaknesses. For example, a spell allows a champion without retreat skills to leave combat, and a champion tojuggernaut - approach the enemy and impose a battle on him.
Available Summoner Spells
The number of summoner spells available depends on the summoner's level. By ninth level, the player has gained all of the summoner's spells.

Cooldown Reduction
Summoner spells are not affected by normal cooldown reduction. Their cooldowns are only affected by effects that say "reduces the cooldown of the summoner's spells by X percent". There are several sources for this effect:- Aura of the Howling Abyss
Additional Information
- ➤During the first 15 seconds of playing Summoner's Rift summoner spells are blocked.
- The Legend of the Poro King and Nexus Siege modes provide their summoner spells. In other modes, they may be explicitly absent.
