What are Elden Ring gestures?
Used as animated expressions
Gestures в Elden Ring are used as simple expressions in the game, acting as an in-game method of communication between players during a multiplayer game, or as simple animations that the player can use at any time in the game. The use of gestures has little to no effect on gameplay, although some "special" gestures may have some effect in the game.
Used to unlock hidden content
In rare cases, performing a gesture in the right conditions can trigger events that can lead you to new quests or entire areas that contain or reward items. Be sure to keep an eye on anything that could be clues to triggering such events during your exploration.
How to use gestures in Elden Ring
Using the gesture menu
To perform gestures, open the main menu and select any of the buttons in the gesture category to open gesture menu. Highlight the desired gesture, then click the Play Now button to start the animation.
Using Motion Controls
If you are playing on a controller with motion controls, you can perform gestures by holding the action button and then performing motion input with the controller. Gestures can be assigned 6 various traffic inputs.
To customize them, open the main menu, then select the motion input you want to change from the gesture category to open the gesture menu. Highlight the gesture you want to set for this motion input, then press the confirmation button to finish.
How to remove gestures
If you don't want to risk performing gestures during combat, there is a way you can remove motion control gestures. Just open the main menu and in the Gesture category click the delete button on all motion inputs with gestures assigned to delete them.
