Meet the new season of Rainbow Six Demon Veil and operator Azami
Ubisoft has announced the next season of Rainbow Six Siege will be called Demon Veil. The new season will introduce a new operator (Defender) Azami, a new map (for the first time in three years) and gameplay updates, a permanent Team Deathmatch mode and much more.
It was the 7th year of support for the game. There's a lot of new content to explore: Azami the Last Defender, the new Emerald Plains map, Team Deathmatch, Attacker Reselection, and more.
Here's everything you need to know for Operation Veil of Demons.
Reinforcement of the team straight from Japan with Azami in Operation Demon Veil.
Azami reveals himself as the new defender
Ubisoft is sticking to the schedule with one Operator per year, and Azami stands apart as the only new addition to Demon Veil. A Japanese defender inspired by private security forces, Warden now competes to be the best prepared for the Siege.
Azami uses Kiba barriers, deployed by throwing a modified Kunai knife that expands into a concrete-like bulletproof barrier when it hits a surface. They can patch holes in walls, floors, and ceilings from a distance, giving defenders their first gadget to ban vertical play.
She wields a 9x19VSN SMG shotgun and an ACS12 as her primary weapon, with a D-50 as her side weapon.
New map of the Emerald Plains will appear in the middle of the season
After three long years the players Rainbow Six are also rewarded with a new card. Since the last release of the map, Fortress in December 2018, there have been many map reworks, but in Demon Veil we are heading to a new location in the Emerald Plains of Ireland.
Inspired by luxury country clubs, the map features high ceilings and lots of whimsical finishes. However, the new map will not be available at launch, only in the middle of the season.
As a result, operation Demon Veil will not remake the map.
Team Deathmatch mode expands the Siege playlist
These are not only new operatives and maps, but also new game modes. Team Deathmatch (TDM) is finally launching in Siege. This will be a permanent playlist where two teams of five will go head to head in a 75 kill race.
Gadgets will be disabled, with both sides only having access to raw weapons (and the occasional impact grenade or stun grenade). There is also no failure penalty, making it an ideal warm-up mode.
Attacker reselection returns after 6 years of testing
Intruder reselection has been popping up again and again, but after testing in Operation High Caliber, Ubisoft is finally releasing the feature live in Year 7.
Attackers will be able to change their operatives for up to three seconds remaining in the preparation phase, when they are blocked. This allows them to come in, decide if they need to switch their lineup, and do so. Defenders won't be given the same luxury - the move actually comes as an attempt to balance attack and defense more closely.
Attacker reselection will be available in all Rainbow Six game modes: Quick Match, Unranked and Ranked.
Goyo's remake finally goes live
Goyo's remake was supposed to come out in Year 6, but Ubisoft delayed it to get it right. Now they've come out with all the changes for the Mexican defender in Operation Demonic Veil.
Gone were the Vulcan's shields, and the fuel jug instead existed as a standalone deployable. You can stick it to surfaces or other gadgets, exploding when you shoot, melee, or blow it up with explosives. Fire now lasts longer and covers a wider area, making it more effective.
Rainbow Six Operation Demon Veil release date
Operation Demon Veil will go live in Rainbow Six Siege February 22 2022 year - first on the test server (TTS), and then on all platforms in early March. We will keep you posted on the exact release date.
