WoW Classic Season of Mastery: Name Reservation and Start Date

The WoW Classic Season of Mastery will bring a number of changes to the MMO, and Blizzard has let us know when we can start reserving names and when things will start.

Season of Mastery will include tougher raids, world buff changes, and adjustments to shake up the mage-heavy meta. However, one of the biggest changes will be that certain locations favored by bots will become less useful for farming.

Players will be able to reserve character names a few days before the worldwide release date in November. Let's see how to do it and when everything goes according to plan.

Name reservation date in WoW Classic Season of Mastery

Name reservations in WoW Classic Season of Mastery will open on 11 November . Players with an active subscription or game time on their World of Warcraft account will be able to create one character per WoW account until the full release.

When you reserve a name, you will also choose the realm in which you will play that character. The following are some additional points to keep in mind when making your decision:

• Once Season of Mastery begins in WoW Classic, you will be able to create additional characters (up to 50 in each game): 
  • up to 50 characters in World of Warcraft Classic (including season of mastery);
  • up to 50 characters in Burning Crusade Classic;
  • up to 50 characters in World of Warcraft and World of Warcraft: Shadowlands.
• Characters created for the Season of Mastery Open Beta in WoW Classic will not be available in the final version of the Season of Mastery in WoW Classic.
• Only for the name reservation period, we will introduce a limit on the number of characters created in the game worlds. With the start of the Season of Mastery, the restriction will be lifted.

In order to create a hero and start playing Season of Mastery in WoW Classic, you need to download and install the game client.

1. Launch Blizzard's Battle.net app and select from the menu World of Warcraft.
2. Get World of Warcraft Classic. If you have multiple World of Warcraft accounts, you will be able to use the corresponding additional drop-down list. In this column, select the active account that you want to use in the game.
3. Click on the button "Install". A special indicator will appear showing the progress of the installation and the time until it is completed.
4. After installation is complete, click the button "Play".

You will need to select the desired Season of Mastery realm from the list. Then create a new hero. Then select the character's faction, class, and race, personalize their appearance, and come up with a name. If you change your mind about using a created hero after you've already reserved a name, simply delete it. Remember that the name of the deleted character will immediately become available to all players.
