Hacker threatens Rockstar with leaking more GTA 6 amid FBI investigation
The infamous Rockstar Games hacker who leaked GTA 6 development footage appears to be back and threatening to release more information about the game as the FBI continues its investigation.
The gaming world was shocked this weekend when 90 videos of GTA 6 in-game footage were released to the public, causing a social media storm.
While Rockstar has confirmed the leak is real and claims no long-term damage was done, the hacker who breached the company's security is still at large with more to share.
A post on the GTA forums resurfaced the account used by the hacker known as Teapot, and she instructed users to keep an eye on the new Telegram account for updates.
It's unclear if this is the same user or someone else who has taken control of the account, but the individual is creating havoc by threatening to release more GTA 6.
Hacker threatens to release more GTA 6 leaks
The person responsible for the previous leaks claims to have a PDF document containing information about the game and may release it soon.
A Rockstar Games insider Tez2 confirmed that he had already seen part of the document and shared some of the details on the GTA forums.
“It was a 105-page document more like a developer tutorial,” he explained.
“I would assume that he has some other documents, but given that he accidentally published, he showed only this one. Perhaps this is the only thing he managed to grab?
Also, the person seems to still be trying to sell content, but the situation has gotten pretty messy.
YouTuber LegacyKillaHD, who followed the test, noted that GTA Forum staff had difficulty verifying that a post using a TeaPot account matched the original leak.
As all of this is happening, the FBI is investigating the case following reports that the Rockstar hacker is the same person who also breached Uber's security.
To add to this mystery, the administrator of the hacker forum Breached stated that the hacker is the 16-year-old leader of the group "Lapsus $and has been arrested for similar crimes in the past.
Nothing has been confirmed yet, of course, but if more about GTA 6 does leak, it could be bad news for Rockstar and fans who want to finally play the game sometime this decade.
