Download Fortnite Now Available in the Google Play Store

Epic Games has announced that Fortnite is available for download on the Google Play Store.
On March 9, 2018, Epic Games announced that Fortnite would be coming to mobile devices. When it was first announced, the blog post said that it would be available on iOS from the start, with Android coming later.
Epic then provided players with an update regarding the release of Fortnite for Android. Epic said in a statement that players can sign up to be notified when Fortnite for Android is available. They also announced the list of devices that will be supported with the launch of Fortnite on Android.
In a Q&A, Epic stated that Fortnite for Android will not be available through the Google Play Store. They also voiced one of the reasons why they decided not to use the Google Play Store. The 30 percent "store tax" was part of the issue that led Epic Games to not launch the Android version through the Google Play Store. Due to the costs, including payment processing, development, customer service, and other expenses, they have stated that this is a high cost for game developers.
They went on to state that if they had the option to release an iOS version of Fortnite without the Apple Store, they would. Despite Epic saying they are using the Google Play Store, their decision was met with some anger from the media and players.
Due to security settings that needed to be disabled for some players on different Android devices in order to download Fortnite, there have been several APK scams that have arisen due to Epic's decision not to use the Play Store. Epic says that a release without the Play Store is a benefit for Epic Games, and nothing has been heard of a release on the Google Play store since.
In a surprise announcement, Epic Games just announced that Fortnite is now available for download on the Google Play Store. There is no announcement on the blog, Epic posted a post on their social media accounts that simply states that Fortnite is now available on the Google Play Store.
There is a possibility that Epic has negotiated a lower fee with Google for in-app purchases, or Epic simply thought it was time to bring in more potential Fortnite players due to reduced activity in recent months.
In any case, this release helps Android players who were unable to download the app using the previous release method.
