Sea of Thieves Season 6: Release date, leaks and everything we know so far
When will Sea of Thieves Season 6 release and what content will be coming next?
Sea of Thieves is approaching its fifth anniversary later this year, and it's fair to say that the colorful multiplayer first-person pirate game has amassed quite a following during this time. But before Microsoft and Rare can celebrate this monumental feat with a barrel of rum, fans will likely want to know what content is coming up next for the game. With that in mind, read on for everything you need to know about Season 6 of Sea of Thieves.
Sea of Thieves Season 6 release date
Season 5 of Sea of Thieves came out in early December, so it goes without saying that in a few weeks, fans might start asking the question, "When does Sea of Thieves Season 6 start?" Luckily, we probably don't have much time to wait for fresh content.
At the time of writing, there is no official release date for Season 6 of Sea of Thieves. However, we usually see Sea of Thieves release a new season every 10-13 weeks.
To help, here's a quick overview of when past seasons of the game typically started and ended:
SEASON | THE DATE OF THE BEGINNING | EXPIRATION DATE | DURATION |
---|---|---|---|
1 Season | January 28, 2021 | April 15, 2021 | 11 weeks |
2 Season | April 15, 2021 | June 22-2021, XNUMX | 9 weeks |
3 Season | June 22-2021, XNUMX | September 23, 2021 | 13 weeks |
4 Season | September 23, 2021 | December 2 2021 | 10 weeks |
5 Season | December 2 2021 | ?? | ON. |
Most often, new seasons start on Thursday, and assuming the next season starts 10 weeks after Season 5 starts, we'll likely see Season 6 start on February 10, 2022. However, this is the earliest date we predict. Assuming the current season is 13 weeks long, as we saw in Season 3, it could start on March 3, 2022. So far, this is just speculation, and we will have to wait for an official announcement from the developer closer to the confirmation time.
Sea of Thieves Season 6 Leaks and Teasers
At the time of writing, there have not been any significant Season 6 leaks, however there have been many teasers released by the developers during the Games' recent Festival of Giving event. Namely, the teasers shared during the 50-hour Twitch livestream that could have been easily missed.
The TLDR is that there have been many teasers that involve Captain Fireheart, the game's infamous Skeleton Lord. Whether or not Flameheart is the main focus of Season 6 remains to be seen, but it looks like next season will be building towards some pretty big points that will impact broader lore of the game.
