Bruce Campbell Teaser of Ash Williams from the Evil Dead in Mortal Kombat 11

The iconic pairing of Bruce Campbell and Ash Williams may be coming to Mortal Kombat soon.
Just yesterday, NetherRealm Studios announced that Shang Tsung would be appearing in Mortal Kombat 11, but the intro video also teased a few other characters along the way. That included two "unknowns" and today Bruce Campbell - the actor who portrayed Ash Williams in all of the Evil Dead movies - was teasing fans on Twitter.
All Campbell had to do was retweet a Mortal Kombats post with the sentence "Boy, this looks like a great game - I'll have to check it out!", and the internet goes crazy.

Tensions are mounting given how wild the speculation was yesterday, when the Shang Tsung video ended with the sound of a shotgun volley and a chainsaw winding up. If you pay close attention to the 2:30 mark of the video ad, you will see/hear this.
Ash and Campbell are not the first time they appear in video games. A total of seven video games from the Evil Dead franchise have been released. In 2000, the star and his iconic role had their first real breakthrough in PlayStation gaming with a game called Hail to the King. Over the next 5 years, two more Evil Dead video games will be created. In 2011, Evil Dead: The Game was published on iOS, and even received a sequel called Endless Nightmare 5 years later in 2016. Ash would later be included in games like Broforce, Dead by Daylight and even Telltale's Poker Night 2.
Mortal Kombat 11 will mark the first appearance of an Ash Williams fighting game - presumably voiced by Campbell himself - although NetherRealm has a long pedigree of bringing famous characters from other franchises into its titles.
The addition of Spawn to the MK11 roster was also announced. Mortal Kombat X in NetherRealm had several DLC characters from horror movies including Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, Leatherface and many more. All of this doesn't even mention the entire Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe game from WarnerBros in 2008.
