Temtem Breeding Guide - How to Breed Temtem!

Special offer

Our Temtem Egg Breeding Guide has all the information you need to start breeding in the game! Although this game is very similar to Pokemon, there are some important differences that make the game process simpler and easier for the player. If you want to have the perfect team, you need to grow your way to it!

Temtem is still only in early access, so many things may change before the official release. We will update this guide with more information as it becomes available and if anything changes along the way.

BREEDING REQUIREMENTS

First, you need two compatible Temtem to merge. Through breeding, a newborn Temtem can inherit various aspects from their parents, such as Technique , Traits и Separate Values , allowing players to create a unique Temtem not otherwise found in nature. One of the Temtem must be female and the other must be male. The female temtem will be the species that hatches from the egg.

Once you have a Temtem you want to breed, you will need to head to the Breeding Center. You can match two separate Temtem pairs so you can get the eggs a little faster.

COMPATIBILITY

If two Temtems share the same type, the pair is compatible for breeding. If they do not share a type, they cannot be bred.

For a Temtem with two types, another Temtem only needs one of their types to be compatible. For example, a Temtem that is both a Water Type and an Electric Type can breed with any Temtem that has either Water or Electric as at least one of its types.

EGG GENERATION AND INCUBATION

After you match your pair of Temtem, it will take you 40 real time minutes before you get the egg. If Temtems are part of the same evolutionary line, the time is reduced to 25 minutes. This means that it is good for you to have Temtem of the same species breed together. Once you get an egg, it can hatch in 5-40 minutes (determined by Temtem's capture rate). You don't have to run like Pokemon, it's not based on steps. You still need to have an egg in your squad for the timer to work.

BREEDING LIMITS (FERTILITY)

The big difference in Temtem compared to Pokemon is that Temtem has a limited number of times they can be used for breeding purposes. Every time your Temtem produces an egg, it permanently loses a fertility point. The number of fertility points a Temtem has is determined by their SV levels. Each SV (IV in Pokemon) that has more than 40 will reduce the amount of fertility points they start with. Fertility cannot be restored naturally.

Fertility is transferred to the egg depending on which parent temtem has a lower value. Here is an example provided by Crema:

For example, a male Temtem with a fertility value of 14 breeds with a female Temtem with a fertility value of 20. A male will end up with a fertility value of 13, a female with a fertility value of 19 and the generated egg will have a fertility value of 13.

HERITAGE OF STATISTICS AND METHODS

Temtem have the ability to inherit their SVs from their parents. For each stat, the Egg Temtem will have a 50% chance to gain an average SV for that particular stat. They have a 25% chance to receive value from their father or mother. There will be items you can use to help you make certain stats inherit from baby Temtem.

Your Temtem baby may also inherit movements that are not normally learned by this particular species. Each Temtem species has special egg moves that it can learn, and if either parent has one of them, they will be learned by the child!

The offspring of breeding will inherit from their parents in several ways:

  1. Fertility - children will inherit lower value between parents fertility counter after egg production. For example, if the parents had 14 and 20 fecundities and produced an egg, their fecundity would drop to 13 and 19 respectively, so the child would end up with a fecundity value of 13.
  2. Techniques Each species of Temtem has a set of techniques that it can learn from its parents at the time of hatching. This allows newborns to know moves they would not naturally learn when pumping.
  3. single values For each of the child's characteristics, a 40% chance is the higher SV between the parents, a 40% chance is the average of the SV of both parents, and a 20% chance is the lower of the two SVs.
  4. Traits - Traits are not inherited by default and will instead be randomly selected on inference, though like SV, some pieces of equipment can ensure that traits are inherited from one parent.
  5. Luma Temtem - Bred Temtem usually has the same chance of being Luma as Temtem in the wild. This chance increases by 10 times if one of the parents is Luma, and further increases by 100 times if both parents are Luma. A Luma temtem created in this way follows the same inheritance rules for single values as a normal Temtem.

INHERITANCE OF LUMA (SHINY) COLOR

Luma is Temtem's version of Pokemon's Shiny. If you don't know what this means, it means an encounter with a specific species with a unique coloration. Collectors greatly appreciate this, and breeding is one of the most reliable ways to obtain them. If you manage to find one in the wild (this is extremely rare, 1 in 6 chance at the moment), you can use them in breeding for a better chance of getting more! If one parent is a Luma, you will be ten times more likely to be a Luma child. If both parents are Luma, you will be a hundred times more likely to become Luma!
