Traps can return to Fortnite in Zero Height mode

Traps have been an integral part of Fortnite for a long time. Many gamers remember having to be careful when entering a building or inside a box to avoid being damaged by a trap.

Traps dealt 75, 125, and 150 damage at various points in the game's history. They can be used effectively by both experienced and casual players.

Many players, including myself, yearn for the days when traps were in use, appearing in the game from the very beginning back in Save the World.

Now, maybe we'll get what we want. Traps seem ready to return to the game, but with one key twist: they will only be present in Zero Height.

Note: This information is based on a Fortnite leak and has not yet been confirmed by Epic Games.

Traps to return to Fortnite?

According to HYPEX, Epic Games has added functionality to Zero Build for Traps, which indicates they are planning to activate them. Presumably this happened in update v20.30which just came out this morning.

Traps support has now been added to No Builds modes, Epic may add some traps soon (if not already in the game)

There is no indication as to whether traps are already in the game, although this seems unlikely. Perhaps they will be added in a future v20.40 update next week.

The decision to enable traps only in Zero Height mode is an interesting one. Traps are considered a building element, and they are usually placed on built platforms.

The most common use of traps is when players find themselves face to face. As their opponents break through the walls and move forward, they end up inside the box. Having a trap to place is the perfect way to turn the tide.

It will be interesting to see how traps are included in build zero. At the moment, there will be far fewer opportunities to use Traps. Gamers most likely won't stick with them for too long.

In the past, amassing Traps has been a good strategy. Now, it seems like the best option is to get into the zone and place them in various buildings so that unsuspecting players walk in and get hit right away.

Fortnite gamers are out of the habit of taking damage from traps, so they will be a viable option to catch players by surprise when first added back to the game.
