This is the first mission in Mass Effect and will start right after you finish character creation.
The story takes place in a universe where in 2148 the remains of an ancient civilization were discovered on Mars, and with their help they learned to move to large spaces, using the “Mass Effect” technology. We play as Captain John Shepard. Our spaceship "Normandy" has arrived in the orbit of the planet Eden Prime to perform a verification task.
