WoW Shadowlands Update 9.2.7 Introduces New Auction Features

Blizzard has announced a brand new feature coming with the WoW 9.2.7 update that will bring huge changes to merchant chat for the first time in 18 years.
The WoW auction hasn't changed much since the MMO first came out in 2004. It's a place where players sell items and advertise things like PvP groups, as well as going through dungeons or raids.
However, in Update 9.2.7, Blizzard will be creating a brand new channel specifically to advertise these services, which will hopefully make it much easier for players to find what they want.

Auction New: Consumer Goods for the Entire Region
- Now auctions from all game worlds of the region of the region have a common list of consumer goods (gems, flasks, consumables, herbs, and so on). Non-commodity items such as weapons and armor continue to be tied to the game world.
- Developer Comment: The Auction House as you know it today should look and feel the same as it used to, just more sellers and buyers of commodities will become available. We would like players to come to the PTR, copy their characters, and help us test the auction across the entire PTR region. In the coming weeks, we will likely set a specific time for everyone to come in together and help with load testing - details will be announced later.
Interface and accessibility
- A new chat channel has been added to search for or advertise services such as raids, dungeons or PvP: Merchant (Services).
- Developer Comment: The Trade channel, which has been in the game for 18 years, will continue to exist, but we wanted to add a new channel that will send requests and advertisements for services like visiting raids, dungeons, and PvP activities. If you are interested in buying or selling services of this kind, this channel is for you! If you're not interested in that, you can leave the channel and avoid the noise, or move it to a separate chat tab. We believe that this new feature will allow us to limit the trade channel to messages about the traditional purchase and sale of profession items and services without extraneous noise.
