Popular Youtuber PewDiePie Unsubscribes Due to Death Threats

Popular YouTuber Felix "PewDiePie" Kjellberg has unfollowed almost everyone on Twitter, all due to massive death threats following the tragic shooting in Christchurch, New Zealand to people who follow Pew.

Journalist Nick Monroe reported that individuals who followed PewDiePie on the social media platform were victims of death threats, forcing the Youtuber to clear his account to protect those involved. “People have targeted those who follow PewDiePie on Twitter,” Monroe wrote of the issue. "For safety reasons, PewDiePie has unfollowed almost everyone on Twitter."

Attached to Monroe's post was a series of screenshots detailing a conversation between the four Twitter accounts that apparently ended with a death threat against PewDiePie.

«Crack an egg over this guy's head”, reads one of the tweets, attaching to the screenshot several accounts that Kjellberg followed.

“Can I break an entire metal chair instead?” - answered the other. “Eggs are food. I don't want to waste food.

At the bottom of the conversation thread was a photo of bullets with the caption "Eggs! Get your eggs here! Without my patented egg launchers sold separately!

PewDiePie

Since then, PewDiePie has unfollowed all but one account, the official Twitter of popular K-Pop group BTS.

While PewDiePie has yet to make a statement regarding his Twitter purge, YouTuber condemned the shooter's actions in Christchurch on 14 March, claiming to be "vomited" when a terrorist says his name.

A horrific attack in Christchurch resulted in the deaths of fifty people who were engaged in worship in two separate mosques at the time of their execution.
